Abstract:Noble metal platinum has good catalytic performance as a hydrogen evolution reaction( HER)catalyst, but its low stability and high cost seriously hinder its large-scale application. The low-cost metal ruthenium has become a good substitute for platinum because it is similar to the metal hydrogen bond of platinum. Using graphene oxide as a carrier and RuCl3solution as a ruthenium source,Ru nanoparticles( Ru/r GO catalyst) uniformly loaded on reduced graphene oxide( r GO) are successfully obtained by freeze-drying technology and high temperature reduction treatment, and it has an average particle size of only 1. 6 nm. An overpotential is only 55 m V at a current density of-100 A/m2. Its performance superior to commercial Pt/C catalysts. This study provides important guidance for the development of non-noble metal HER catalysts.
