Abstract:We prove that a surjective isometry between the unit spheres of two uniform algebras is extended to a surjective real-linear isometry between the uniform algebras. It provides the first positive solution for Tingley's problem on a Banach space of analytic functions.

Abstract:We show that unital simple C*-algebras with tracial topological rank zero which are locally approximated by subhomogeneous C*-algebras can be classified by their ordered K-theory. We apply this classification result to show that certain simple crossed products are isomorphic if they have the same ordered K-theory. In particular, irrational higher dimensional noncommutative tori of the form C(T-k) x(theta) Z are in fact inductive limits of circle algebras.

Abstract:We present a stable uniqueness theorem for non-unital C*-algebras. Generalized tracial rank one is defined for stably projectionless simple C*-algebras. Let A and B be two stably projectionless separable simple amenable C*-algebras with gTR(A)≤ 1and gTR(B)≤ 1. Suppose also that KK(A, D)=KK(B,D)={0} for all C*-algebras D. Then A≅ B if and only if they have the same tracial cones with scales. We also show that every separable simple C*-algebra, A with finite nuclear dimension which satisfies the UCT with non-zero traces must have gTR(A)≤ 1 if K_0(A) is torsion. In the next part of this research, we show similar results without the restriction on K-theory.

Abstract:C*-algebras are widely used in mathematical physics to represent the observables of physical systems, and are sometimes taken as the starting point for rigorous formulations of quantum mechanics and classical statistical mechanics. Nevertheless, in many cases the naive choice of an algebra of observables does not admit a C*-algebra structure, and some massaging is necessary. In this paper we investigate what properties of C*-algebras carry over to more general algebras and what modifications of the Gelfand theory of normed algebras are necessary. We use category theory as a guide and, by replacing the ordinary definition of the Gelfand spectrum with a manifestly functorial definition, we succeed in generalizing the Gelfand-Naimark theorem to locally convex *-algebras. We also recall a little-known but potentially very useful generalization of the Stone-Weierstrass theorem to completely regular, Hausdorff spaces.

Abstract:We consider genus one n-point functions for a vertex operator superalgebra with a real grading. We compute all n-point functions for rank one and rank two fermion vertex operator superalgebras. In the rank two fermion case, we obtain all orbifold n-point functions for a twisted module associated with a continuous automorphism generated by a Heisenberg bosonic state. The modular properties of these orbifold n-point functions are given and we describe a generalization of Fay's trisecant identity for elliptic functions.

Abstract:The Alon-Tarsi number $AT(G)$ of a graph $G$ is the smallest $k$ for which there is an orientation $D$ of $G$ with max indegree $k-1$ such that the number of even and odd circulations contained in D are different. In this paper, we show that the Alon--Tarsi number of toroidal grids $T_{m,n}=C_m\Box C_n$ equals $4$ when $m,n$ are both odd and $3$ otherwise.

Abstract:We define the Hopf superalgebra U_T sl(1,1), which is a variant of the quantum supergroup U_q sl(1,1), and its tensor product representations V_1^{\otimes n} for n>0. We construct families of DG algebras A, B and R_n, and consider the DG categories DGP(A), DGP(B) and DGP(R_n), which are full DG subcategories of the categories of DG A-, B- and R_n-modules generated by certain distinguished projective modules. Their 0th homology categories HP(A), HP(B), and HP(R_n) are triangulated and give algebraic formulations of the contact categories of an annulus, a twice punctured disk, and an n times punctured disk. We categorify the multiplication and comultiplication on U_T sl(1,1) to a bifunctor HP(A) \times HP(A) --> HP(A) and a functor HP(A) --> HP(B), respectively. The U_T sl(1,1)-action on V_1^{\otimes n} is lifted to a bifunctor HP(A) \times HP(R_n) --> HP(R_n).

The manuscript on hand provides more context to the results presented in the aforementioned work, identifies new classes of Gorenstein algebras, and explores their behaviour under standard operations like taking tensor products and tilting.

Abstract:For the noncommutative torus ${\cal T}$, in case of the N.C. parameter$\theta = \frac{Z}{n}$ and the area of ${\cal T}$ is an integer, we construct the basis of Hilbert space ${\cal H}_n$ in terms of $\theta$functions of the positions $z_i$ of $n$ solitons. The loop wrapping a$the torus generates the algebra ${\cal A}_n$. We show that ${\cal A}_$isomorphic to the $Z_n \times Z_n$ Heisenberg group on $\theta$ funct$We find the explicit form for the local operators, which is the gener$$g$ of an elliptic $su(n)$, and transforms covariantly by the global gauge transformation of the Wilson loop in ${\cal A}_n$. Abstract:In this article, we give the categorification of Leibniz algebras, which is equivalent to 2-term sh Leibniz algebras. They reveal the algebraic structure of omni-Lie 2-algebras introduced in [26] as well as twisted Courant algebroids by closed 4-forms introduced in [13]. We also prove that Dirac structures of twisted Courant algebroids give rise to 2-term L-algebras and geometric structures behind them are exactly H-twisted Lie algebroids introduced in [10].

Abstract:The equivariant cohomology of certain moduli spaces of sheaves on isotrivial elliptic surfaces are shown to admit representations of infinite dimensional Lie (super)algebras. The construction is based on work of Billig and Chen-Li-Tan on vertex representations of toroidal extended affine Lie algebras, and a geometric interpretation of bc-ghost systems on Hilbert schemes of points on ruled surfaces. The role of higher-nullity toroidal extended affine lie algebras are discussed in relation to tensor products of modules of a Yangian-like associative algebra. Applications to enumerative geometry are discussed in the introduction.
