Abstract:F.-H. Lin (1989) studied minimal graphs of the Dirichlet problem in the hyperbolic space and proved that any such minimal graph has the same global regularity as the boundary if the dimension of the minimal graph is even and that there is an obstacle to the higher regularity if the dimension is odd. We discuss the odd-dimensional case and study how the higher regularity is obstructed. We introduce the logarithmic distance to the boundary as an additional independent self-variable and establish concise boundary regularity for the minimal graph.

Abstract:For any , let denote the space containing all locally Lipschitz minimal graphs of dimension n and of arbitrary codimension m in Euclidean space with uniformly bounded 2-dilation of their graphic functions. In this paper, we show that this is a natural class to extend structural results known for codimension one. In particular, we prove that any tangent cone C of at infinity has multiplicity one. This enables us to get a Neumann–Poincaré inequality on stationary indecomposable components of C . A corollary is a Liouville theorem for M . For small (we can take any ), we prove that (i) for , M is flat; (ii) for and a non-flat M , any tangent cone of M at infinity is a multiplicity one quasi-cylindrical minimal cone in whose singular set has dimension .

Abstract:We discuss the global regularity of solutions f to the Dirichlet problem for minimal graphs in the hyperbolic space when the boundary of the domain Ω⊂ℝ^n has a nonnegative mean curvature and prove an optimal regularity f∈ C^1/n+1(Ω̅). We can improve the Hölder exponent for f if certain combinations of principal curvatures of the boundary do not vanish, a phenomenon observed by F.-H. Lin.

Abstract:We study the Dirichlet problem for minimal surface systems in arbitrary dimension and codimension via mean curvature flow, and obtain the existence of minimal graphs over arbitrary mean convex bounded C2 domains for a large class of prescribed boundary data. This result can be seen as a natural generalization of the classical sharp criterion for solvability of the minimal surface equation by Jenkins-Serrin. In contrast, we also construct a class of prescribed boundary data on just mean convex domains for which the Dirichlet problem in codimension 2 is not solvable. Moreover, we study existence and the uniqueness of minimal graphs by perturbation.

Abstract:The authors derive curvature estimates for minimal submanifolds in Euclidean space for arbitrary dimension and codimension via Gauss map. Thus, Schoen-Simon-Yau’s results and Ecker-Huisken’s results are generalized to higher codimension. In this way, Hildebrandt-Jost-Widman’s result for the Bernstein type theorem is improved.

Abstract:We study minimal graphic functions on complete Riemannian manifolds ∑ with nonnegative Ricci curvature, euclidean volume growth, and quadratic curvature decay. We derive global bounds for the gradients for minimal graphic functions of linear growth only on one side. Then we can obtain a Liouville-type theorem with such growth via splitting for tangent cones of ∑ at infinity. When, in contrast, we do not impose any growth restrictions for minimal graphic functions, we also obtain a Liouville-type theorem under a certain nonradial Ricci curvature decay condition on ∑. In particular, the borderline for the Ricci curvature decay is sharp by our example in the last section. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Abstract:Let B2(p) be an n-dimensional smooth geodesic ball with Ricci curvature ≥ −(n − 1)κ for some κ ≥ 0. We establish the Sobolev inequality and the uniform Neumann-Poincaré inequality on each minimal graph over B1(p) by combining CheegerColding theory and the current theory from geometric measure theory, where the constants in the inequalities only depends on n, κ, the lower bound of the volume of B1(p). As applications, we derive gradient estimates and a Liouville theorem for a minimal graph M over a smooth complete noncompact manifold Σ of nonnegative Ricci curvature and Euclidean volume growth. Furthermore, we can show that any tangent cone of Σ at infinity splits off a line isometrically provided the graphic function of M admits linear growth.

Abstract:We develop an ε-regularity theory at the boundary for a general class of Monge–Ampère type equations arising in optimal transportation. As a corollary we deduce that optimal transport maps between Hölder densities supported on C2 uniformly convex domains are C1,α up to the boundary, provided that the cost function is a sufficient small perturbation of the quadratic cost −x⋅y.

Abstract:We study asymptotic behaviors of solutions f to the Dirichlet problem for minimal graphs in the hyperbolic space with singular asymptotic boundaries under the assumption that the boundaries are piecewise regular with positive curvatures, a case which also arises in the study of a Chaplygin gas. We derive an estimate of such solutions by the corresponding solutions in the intersections of interior tangent balls. The positivity of curvatures plays an important role.

Abstract:This paper investigates the relation between the boundary geometricproperties and the boundary regularity of the solutions of elliptic equations.We prove by a new unified method the pointwise boundary Hölder regularityunder proper geometric conditions. "Unified" means that our method isapplicable for the Laplace equation, linear elliptic equations in divergenceand non-divergence form, fully nonlinear elliptic equations, the p-Laplaceequations and the fractional Laplace equations etc. In addition, thesegeometric conditions are quite general. In particular, for local equations, themeasure of the complement of the domain near the boundary point concerned couldbe zero. The key observation in the method is that the strong maximum principleimplies a decay for the solution, then a scaling argument leads to theHölder regularity. Moreover, we also give a geometric condition, whichguarantees the solvability of the Dirichlet problem for the Laplace equation.The geometric meaning of this condition is more apparent than that of theWiener criterion.

Abstract:The fine curve graph was introduced as a geometric tool to study the homeomorphisms of surfaces. In this paper we study the Gromov boundary of this space and the local topology near points associated with minimal measurable foliations. We then give several applications including finding explicit elements with positive stable commutator length, and proving a Tits alternative for subgroups of $\textrm{Homeo}(S)$ containing a pseudo-Anosov map, generalizing a result of Hurtado-Xue.

Abstract:In this paper we study the global regularity for the solution to the Dirichlet problem of the equation of minimal graphs over a convex domain in hyperbolic spaces. We find that the global regularity depends only on the convexity of the domain but independent of its smoothness. Basing on the invariance of the problem under translation and rotation transforms, we construct the super-solution to the problem, by which we prove the optimal and accurate global regularity for this problem.

Abstract:We study the gain in regularity of the distance to the boundary of a domain in $\R^m$. In particular, we show that if the signed distance function happens to be merely differentiable in a neighborhood of a boundary point, it and the boundary have to be $\mathcal C^{1,1}$ regular. Conversely, we study the regularity of the distance function under regularity hypotheses of the boundary. Along the way, we point out that any solution to the eikonal equation, differentiable everywhere in a domain of the Euclidean space, admits a gradient which is locally Lipschitz.

Abstract:Let $\Sigma$ be a complete Riemannian manifold of nonnegative Ricci curvature. We prove a Liouville-type theorem: every smooth solution $u$ to minimal hypersurface equation on $\Sigma$ is a constant provided $u$ has sublinear growth for its negative part. Here, the sublinear growth condition is sharp. Our proof relies on a gradient estimate for minimal graphs over $\Sigma$ with small linear growth of the negative parts of graphic functions via iteration.

Abstract:We prove an analogue for a one-phase free boundary problem of the classical gradient bound for solutions to the minimal surface equation. It follows, in particular, that every energy-minimizing free boundary that is a graph is also smooth. The method we use also leads to a new proof of the classical minimal surface gradient bound.

Abstract:We prove improved differentiability results for relaxed minimisers of vectorial convex functionals with ( p , q ) -growth, satisfying a Hölder-growth condition in x . We consider both Dirichlet and Neumann boundary data. In addition, we obtain a characterisation of regular boundary points for such minimisers. In particular, in case of homogeneous boundary conditions, this allows us to deduce partial boundary regularity of relaxed minimisers on smooth domains for radial integrands. We also obtain some partial boundary regularity results for non-homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions.
