Abstract:Improving the low temperature activity of NO oxidation while ensuring hydrothermal stability is a challenge. Enhancing oxygen vacancies (Ov) and oxygen migration capacity is an effective idea to overcome this challenge. Particularly, tuning the Mn-O coordination environment according to the radius and valence differences of dopant ions can increases Ov, while accelerates oxygen migration by constructing Pt/mullite interfaces. Here, based on the hydrothermal stability of Pt/mullite to NO oxidation, we designed Mg2+- and Ba2+-doped catalysts. And in the simulated diesel exhaust, the T30 (temperature at 30% NO conversion) of Mg2+-doped catalyst decreased from 360 °C to 277 °C compared to the undoped catalyst. Meanwhile, the degradation rate of NO oxidation was less than 5% for all catalysts. Furthermore, XPS, TG and other characterizations were employed to characterize Ov and oxygen migration capacity. Notably, the simple doping method is general for the modification of other mullites and worthy of industrial application.
