Abstract:During short-circuit fault, the power converter based grid-tied renewable energy generation system (REGS) is supposed to inject active current in addition to the reactive current stipulated by the grid code to prevent loss of synchronization between the REGS and the power grid. In this paper, an adaptive current injecting method (ACIM) is applied to improve the grid-synchronization stability of REGS. The method adjusts the active and reactive currents according to the frequency estimated by the phase-locked-loop (PLL), ensuring that a stable operating point of the REGS exists during the short-circuit fault. An experimental system is built to validate the effectiveness of the ACIM.
