Abstract:Objective To review our experience in the management of twin reversed arterial perfusion sequence(TRAP)with fetoscopy.Methods In May and June 2009,two patients with TRAP received treatment in our hospital at 20 and 22+4 weeks of gestation.One of the cases had cord entanglement(monoamniotic MA)and the other showed hydramnios.The umbilical cord ligation transection and umbilical cord occlusion by bipolar coagulation were performed on the cases.Results Of the two cases,one baby was delivered at 38 weeks of gestation and the other at 30 weeks(the mother showed frequent contraction at 29+5 weeks of gestation with progressive increase of CRP and serum level of WBC).No congenital malformations were found in the two newborns.Conclusions Fetoscopy is effective in treating twin reversed arterial perfusion sequence and improving the outcomes of healthy fetus.
