Abstract:CsPbX3 (X = Cl, Br, I) quantum dots (QDs) are rapidly emerging as a generation of photoelectric functional materials because of their excellent photoelectric properties. However, CsPbX3 QDs reveal poor stability and easily decompose in solution and high-temperature environments, which inhibits their application in lighting display. In situ growth of CsPbX3 QDs in amorphous glass has become an important means to significantly improve their stability. Herein, the CsPbX3 QDs are introduced into a zinc borosilicate glass matrix with high thermal shock and good hydrolysis resistances to obtain zinc borosilicate glass-stabilized CsPbX3 QDs. Importantly, the highest quantum efficiencies (30-50%) of CsPbX3 QDs glasses are exhibited in contrast to rare-earth-based phosphors. Benefiting from the effective protection of the zinc borosilicate glass matrix, CsPbX3 QDs glasses reveal superior water resistance, in which the 90% luminous intensity of CsPbX3 QDs glasses was maintained after their immersion in water for 32 days. In addition, the high thermal stability and inhibition of halogen anion exchange were demonstrated. Two prototype light-emitting-diode devices are assembled via monochromatic and blue/cyan/orange CsPbX3 QDs glass powders with a InGaN blue chip, yielding bright multicolor light with excellent performance. Zinc borosilicate glass-stabilized CsPbX3 QDs with excellent fluorescence properties and high stability provide important insight for the application of lighting displays.
