Abstract:Transition-metal fluorides has attracted considerable attention because of the small atomic mass of F atom and the open-framework structure in the energy field. For the first time we design a non-magnetic 1T-TiF 2 structure using first-principles calculations. The thermal and dynamic stabilities of the 1T-TiF 2 structure are demonstrated. The 1T-TiF 2 structure has a small anisotropy that can effectively withstand large strains with less deformation. Here, the 1T-TiF 2 monolayer is identified a suitable anode material for Li-ions, Na-ions, and K-ions rechargeable batteries with competitive theoretical capacitance (208.08 mA h g -1 for Li, 277.45 mA h g -1 for Na, and 208.08 mA h g -1 for K). Besides, the low diffusion barriers (0.29 eV for Li, 0.06 eV for Na, and 0.25 eV for K) indicate that the 1T-TiF 2 monolayer has superionic conductivity, which can prevent the formation of dendrite. Our research expands the variety of transition-metal fluorides, and provides an ideal anode material for rechargeable batteries with monovalent cations (Li + /Na + /K + ).
