Abstract:The new generation of CAPP system for networked manufacturing named NET-CAPP is under development. It is built on CORBA architecture. The difference of NET-CAPP and traditional CAPP along with some key techniques, such as capability assessment, candidate partner evaluation and XML-based process exchange are described in detail. An example is given to illustrate the function of the system.

Abstract:Networked manufacturing oriented cooperative CAPP system has become one of the hotspots of research and application. The paper mainly studies how to realize cooperative planning among heterogeneous CAPP systems in a networked manufacturing oriented environment. We put forward an idea for cooperative process planning. Then, we study some key technologies of it, including cooperative control command management technology and shared data processing. Finally an example of the networked manufacturing oriented cooperative CAPP system is introduced.

Abstract:In order to solve problems of long product development cycle, low collaborative work efficiency in complex product manufacturing firm, the approach of PLM-oriented collaboration digital process planning is put forward. The state of arts on PLM-oriented collaboration process planning and business requirements in complex product manufacturing firms are analyzed. The advantages and needs of PLM-oriented collaboration process planning workflow in complex product manufacturing firm are described in detail. Technology architecture on PLM-oriented collaboration digital process planning is founded also. Based on the development of a PLM-oriented collaboration digital process planning system (PLM-CDPP) in an aircraft manufacturing firm, the architecture of PLM-CDPP system based on the integration of CAPPFramework and Windchill is founded. Key technologies of PLM-oriented collaboration digital process planning system framework, business pattern, workflow and integrated model are discussed in detail. PLM-CDPP system has been applied in an aircraft manufacturing firm and good effect has been shown in practical engineering application.

Abstract:In the basis of the existing computer aided process planning (CAPP) developing tool, the concept of CAPP developing tool was described. The basic hierarchical model of CAPP developing tool was proposed, which is the organic integration of the group technology, information model of process planning, object-oriented software, artificial intelligence and database techniques. The architecture of practical dedicated CAPP/numerical control (NC) system was presented. The results have shown that the model is effective.

Abstract:The Fabrication of aircraft structural parts is the bottleneck for manufacturing the modern aircrafts due to their structure complexity and technical difficulty. In order to improve the capability to fabricate the complicated aircraft structural parts and the efficiency of technical preparation, and also to accumulate and share the domain knowledge of manufacturing process, and reuse the 3D product model in the procedure of manufacturing, this paper introduced a kind of 3D-model-based integrated CAPP system by using digital and intelligent manufacturing technology, with which some problems above can be solved when manufacturing aircraft structural part. Some key technologies related to 3DCAPP system, such as the modelling technology of 3D manufacturing feature, the feature-based typical processing template, the procedure of knowledge-based process decision-making and visual manufacturing process on-machine application and so on, are introduced in this paper in details.

Abstract:With the rapid development of computer science and network technology, information technologies have been applied widely to manufacturing procedure of products. Computer aided process planning (CAPP), as a bridge to connect CAD and CAM, has been playing a key role in advanced manufacture fields, such as computer integrated manufacturing, agile manufacturing, virtual manufacturing, enterprise resource planning and product data management. With information technologies' extensive popularization and their application in the information manufacturing, CAPP technology is gaining more and more attention. Being associated with the production manufacturing environment and following closely with the advanced development of CAPP technology, this paper systematically studies the architecture, implementing methodology and the key technique of networked CAPP systems based on dynamic management of manufacturing resource. Finally, a prototype system is implemented with relationship database technology, PowerBuilder, SQL Server etc. Its advantages, such as feasibility, reliability, practicability, friendly interface, maneuverability, have been verified.

Abstract:From the perspective of process plan domain, the concept of product-oriented computer aided process planning (CAPP) and the concept of product-based CAPP are proposed. Abstract:The CAPP system architecture in networked manufacturing environment is researched. The applications of web-based browser/server technology, ASP/ADO technology and ActiveX controller technology, which are related to this system architecture, are studied. By these technologies, the key technologies of the CAPP system is investigated, including an Internet-based general mechanism for getting part information, a general variant process planning method and a general generated process planning method. Lastly, a corresponding prototype system is exploited, and examples are presented.

Abstract:To implement advanced manufacturing technologies in enterprises, it is necessary to realize process management in the computer aided process planning(CAPP) system. Based on workflow management and software agent technology, a process workflow system is designed that is used to support process management. After the analysis of the workflow of process planning, a formal workflow model is built. An agent model composed of process model, intention model, skill model and companion model is also put forward to implement workflow management. A nested agent federation is constructed to enhance system flexibility. The key technologies of the system were realized in GS-CAPP and good results were achieved.

Abstract:This paper proposes an architecture of CAPP based on machining feature recognition. The key techniques such as machining feature recognition, process planning optimization are discussed. In order to recognize the machining feature, the edges are divided into two types: convex Edge and concave Edge. The machining features are divided into four types: AOMF, HOMF, BCMF, and TCMF. The recognition process of the basic machining feature and the interactive process are given. Process planning optimization is to optimize the operation order and the machining resource. A mathematical model for process planning is given. A prototype is developed, and a example part is used for test.
