Abstract:The new generation of CAPP system for networked manufacturing named NET-CAPP is under development. It is built on CORBA architecture. The difference of NET-CAPP and traditional CAPP along with some key techniques, such as capability assessment, candidate partner evaluation and XML-based process exchange are described in detail. Abstract:Analyzing the characteristics of middle small-scale manufacturers on the basis of actual investigation a CAPP system is designed to adapt to machine-building manufacturers. Finds out the features of technological documents, and the IDEF0 modeling process is introduced to determine the functions required for CAPP, including process planning, management, integration, etc., thus the make up of the CAPP system. Then, the CAPP system architecture and its main modules are designed and implemented to fit in with the requirements of middle small-scale machine-building manufacturers. Some key techniques are discussed, including the data exchange between CAPP and PDM, realization of products structure trees and denotation of special symbols. Describes the way to implement the CAPP system which has been deployed by Shenyang Valve Manufacture Co., Ltd and with very good effect obtained in application.

Abstract:The new characteristics and requirements of CAPP for Internet-based manufacturing environment are analyzed. Then a CAPP framework based on B/S architecture is presented. Abstract:Networked manufacturing oriented cooperative CAPP system has become one of the hotspots of research and application. The paper mainly studies how to realize cooperative planning among heterogeneous CAPP systems in a networked manufacturing oriented environment. Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems

Abstract:The CAPP system architecture in networked manufacturing environment is researched. The applications of web-based browser/server technology, ASP/ADO technology and ActiveX controller technology, which are related to this system architecture, are studied. By these technologies, the key technologies of the CAPP system is investigated, including an Internet-based general mechanism for getting part information, a general variant process planning method and a general generated process planning method. Lastly, a corresponding prototype system is exploited, and examples are presented.

Abstract:To implement advanced manufacturing technologies in enterprises, it is necessary to realize process management in the computer aided process planning(CAPP) system. Based on workflow management and software agent technology, a process workflow system is designed that is used to support process management. After the analysis of the workflow of process planning, a formal workflow model is built. An agent model composed of process model, intention model, skill model and companion model is also put forward to implement workflow management. A nested agent federation is constructed to enhance system flexibility. The key technologies of the system were realized in GS-CAPP and good results were achieved.

Abstract:The significance of CAPP application was introduced,and the development of the CAPP system for shafting parts was mainly discussed.The functions of the system were designed,and the key technology including the reason- ing machine of the expert system creation and database creation was discussed.The system standardized the selection of the process parameters by building a consummate expert system,which differed from the man-machine alternation searches structure that was adopted by current mass CAPP software.Using the system,process planning time was consumedly shortened.

Abstract:In the basis of the existing computer aided process planning (CAPP) developing tool, the concept of CAPP developing tool was described. The basic hierarchical model of CAPP developing tool was proposed, which is the organic integration of the group technology, information model of process planning, object-oriented software, artificial intelligence and database techniques. The architecture of practical dedicated CAPP/numerical control (NC) system was presented. The results have shown that the model is effective.

Abstract:Different manufacturing enterprises need the different CAPP systems, which interrupts popularization of CAPP. In order to improve expansibility, reusability and dynamic adaptability of CAPP system, the work mechanism of an intelligent CAPP system based on multi-agent system was investigated, and this paper researched on the architecture and function of the agents in the intelligent CAPP. The reason of conflict generation was analyzed, and conflict resolution mechanism based on knowledge was represented. The conflicts which intelligent CAPP generated were resolved by use of rule-based reasoning and case-based reasoning, the relevant agents were developed, the investigation achievement was applied in the process of producing shearer. It is shown that the intelligent CAPP based on multi-agent system has good expansibility and reusability, it can adapt to the changes of products and production conditions in the enterprise. © 2009 IEEE.
