Abstract:Simple and practical reactions of pyrrole-2-carbaldehydes with nitroethylenes provide either the 5,6-dihydroindolizines or the indolizines in one pot, depending on the reaction temperature. Additionally, a plausible mechanism for the entire sequence is proposed.

Abstract:A new synthetic protocol for efficient and regiospecifc assembly of indolizines and pyrido[1,2-a]indoles by coupling of substituted methyl bromides and alkynes with corresponding pyrrole-2-carboxaldehyde and 1H-indole-2-carboxaldehyde has been developed. Additionally, a possible mechanism for the reaction is proposed.

Abstract:Concise and efficient four-component tandem approaches to polysubstituted indolizines have been developed under metal-free and mild aerobic conditions in refluxing acetonitrile. Abstract:One-pot synthesis of 2-(N-sulfonylimino)indolines has been developed. The procedure combines the copper-catalyzed three-component reaction of sulfonyl azides, o-bromophenylacetylenes, and amines and the copper-catalyzed intramolecular C–N coupling in one sequence, which afforded the products in moderate to good yields. The resulting 2-(N-sulfonylimino)indolines could be easily transformed to pharmaceutically valuable oxindoles (indolin-2-ones).
