Abstract:Let T be an operator tuple in the Cowen–Douglas class B n (Ω) for Ω ⊂ C m . The kernels Ker( T − w ) l , for w ∈ Ω, l = 1, 2, ···, define Hermitian vector bundles E T l over Ω. We prove certain negativity of the curvature of E T l . We also study the relation between certain curvature inequality and the contractive property of T when Ω is a planar domain.

Abstract:We derive interior curvature bounds for admissible solutions of a class of curvature equations subject to affine Dirichlet data, generalizing a well-known estimate of Pogorelov for equations of Monge-Ampere type. For equations for which convexity of the solution is the natural ellipticity assumption, the curvature bound is proved for solutions with C-1,C-1 Dirichlet data. We also use the curvature bounds to improve and extend various existence results for the Dirichlet and Plateau problems.

Abstract:In this paper we study the existence of closed convex hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space Rn+1 such that a Weingarten curvature, regarded as a function of their unit normal, is equal to a given positive function on the unit sphere Sn. Two classical problems of this type, namely the Christoffel problem [6] and the Minkowski problem [16], which address respectively the cases of harmonic and Gauss curvature, were completely solved in the 1970’s [7,9,17]. Besides the harmonic and Gauss curvatures, the most interesting Weingarten curvatures are probably the mean curvature, or more generally the k-curvatures (1 ≤ k ≤ n)

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the geometry of the moduli space of curves by using the curvature properties of direct image sheaves of vector bundles. We show that the moduli space $(M_g, \omega_{WP})$ of curves with genus $g>1$ has dual-Nakano negative and semi-Nakano-negative curvature, and in particular, it has non-positive Riemannain curvature operator and also non-positive complex sectional curvature. As applications, we prove that any submanifold in $M_g$ which is totally geodesic in $A_g$ with finite volume must be a ball quotient. We also show that, on a Kodaira (deformation) surface, there is no K\"ahler metric with non-positive Riemannain sectional curvature although it possesses K\"ahler metrics with strictly negative holomorphic bisectional curvature.

Abstract:We illustrate a new method in teaching the various kinds of curvatures of surfaces in Euclidean space.We apply the tools of plane vectors analysis,matrixes and derivations etc.,and obtain all the conclusions and equalities.Comparing with the tradational way of using the Weingarten map as wall as its eigenvalues,this new method is very simple and direct.

Abstract:Inspired by the approach of Ivanisvili and Volberg towards functional inequalities for probability measures with strictly convex potentials, we investigate the relationship between curvature bounds in the sense of Bakry-Emery and local functional inequalities. We will show that not only is the earlier approach for strictly convex potentials extendable to Markov semigroups and simplified through use of the $\Gamma$-calculus, providing a consolidating machinery for obtaining functional inequalities new and old in this general setting, but that a converse also holds. Local inequalities obtained are proven equivalent to Bakry-Emery curvature. Moreover we will develop this technique for metric measure spaces satisfying the RCD condition, providing a unified approach to functional and isoperimetric inequalities in non-smooth spaces with a synthetic Ricci curvature bound. Finally, we are interested in commutation properties for semi-group operators on $\mathbb{R}^n$ in the absence of positive curvature, based on a local eigenvalue criteria.

Abstract:We develop a new approach to, and somewhat extend, results of Cheeger, Colding and Tian (Geom. Funct. Anal. 12 (2002) 873–914), which give restrictions on the singular sets that can arise as Gromov‐Hausdorff limits in the presence of integral bounds on the curvature. The foundation of this approach is provided by a rigidity result for flat singular spaces, which has independent interest.

Abstract:The original Choi–Davis–Jensen's inequality, known for its extensive applications in various scientific and engineering fields, has inspired researchers to pursue its generalizations. In this study, we extend the Choi–Davis–Jensen's inequality by introducing a nonlinear map instead of a normalized linear map and generalize the concept of operator convex functions to include any continuous function defined within a compact region. Notably, operators can be matrices with structural symmetry, enhancing the scope and applicability of our results. The Stone–Weierstrass theorem and the Kantorovich function play crucial roles in the formulation and proof of these generalized Choi–Davis–Jensen's inequalities. Furthermore, we demonstrate an application of this generalized inequality in the context of statistical physics.

Abstract:The notion of tamed Dirichlet space was proposed by Erbar, Rigoni, Sturm and Tamanini as a Dirichlet space having a weak form of Bakry-Émery curvature lower bounds in distribution sense. After their work, Braun established a vector calculus for it, in particular, the space of $L^2$-normed $L^{\infty}$-module describing vector fields, $1$-forms, Hessian in $L^2$-sense. In this framework, we establish the Hess-Schrader-Uhlenbrock inequality for $1$-forms as an element of $L^2$-cotangent module (an $L^2$-normed $L^{\infty}$-module), which extends the Hess-Schrader-Uhlenbrock inequality by Braun under an additional condition.
