Abstract:The alkenylation of indoles with α,β-unsaturated ketones through a tandem addition and oxidative dehydrogenation strategy has been developed. This method provides an alternative approach for C3 alkenylation of indoles with α,β-unsaturated ketones. Using inexpensive and readily available BF3·Et2O and an ammonium salt as the efficient cocatalyst constitutes the attractive advantage of this reaction.

Abstract:Described herein is the development of an unprecedented approach to direct amination of unstrained aryl-ketone Csp2–Csp2 sigma bonds with sulfonylazides via Rh(III)-catalyzed Csp2–Csp2 cleavage. Abstract:A new electrochemical proton-coupled electron transfer method for the intermolecular C SP 2 –H amination of heteroarenes without oxidants, metal catalysts and external electrolytes has been developed. Various new N-containing heteroarenes were prepared in medium to high yields, and the indole-containing product could be converted into practical 2-oxindole by simple basic hydrolysis. Mechanistic investigation indicated that ester sulfonyl-substituted N -radicals could be formed by the combination of 2,6-lutidine and electrochemical oxidation, which is the key to achieve the desired chemoselectivity.

Abstract:A Lewis base-catalyzed asymmetric allylic alkylation of Morita-Baylis-Hillman carbonates derived from isatins has been investigated, which provides an electrophilic pathway to access oxindoles bearing C3-quaternary stereocenters. Excellent diastereoselectivity and high enantioselectivity have been obtained in the vinylogous functionalization of α,α-dicyanoolefin nucleophiles, giving multifunctional products with vicinal quaternary and tertiary chiral carbon centers.
