Abstract:A new synthetic method for the preparation of di-mu-chlorobis[pi-1-chloro-1-aryl-2-(2',2'-diarylvinyl)-allyl]palladium(II) complexes has been developed from the reaction of arylvinylcyclopropenes with a Pd(II) complex along with a novel dehydrogenative rearrangement of arylvinylcyclopropenes via di-mu-chlorobis-[pi-1-chloro-1-aryl-2-(2',2'-diarylvinyl)allyl]palladium(II) complexes to produce 7H-benzo[c]fluorene derivatives in good yields under mild conditions. A stoichiometric amount of silver salts or a catalytic amount of strong Bronsted acid HOTf can be the promoter or the catalyst for this interesting dehydrogenative rearrangement.
