Abstract:We construct an intertwining map from the oscillator representation to the tensor product of two degenerate principal series of G and G′ which form a reductive dual pair in the sense of Howe. We derive results on local theta correspondence for the dual pairs (O(p, q), Sp(2q, R)), (U(p, q), U(q, q)) and (Sp(p, q), O*(4q)), where p⩾q. We also describe the correspondence completely for the pairs (O(p, q), SL(2, R)), (U(p, q)U(1, 1)), and (Sp(p, q), O*(4)).

Abstract:In this thesis, we consider geometric properties of vector bundles arising from algebraic and Hermitian geometry. On vector bundles in algebraic geometry, such as ample, nef and globally generated vector bundles, we are able to construct positive Hermitian metrics in different senses(e.g. Griffiths-positive, Nakano-positive and dual-Nakano-positive) by L2-method and deduce many new vanishing theorems for them by analytic method instead of the Le Potier-Leray spectral sequence method. On Hermitian manifolds, we find that the second Ricci curvature tensors of various metric connections are closely related to the geometry of Hermitian manifolds. We can derive various vanishing theorems for Hermitian manifolds and also for complex vector bundles over Hermitian manifolds by their second Ricci curvature tensors. We also introduce a natural geometric flow on Hermitian manifolds by using the second Ricci curvature tensor.

Abstract:Properties of pairs of product conjugate connections are stated with a special view towards the integrability of the given almost product structure. We define the analogous in product geometry of the structural and the virtual tensors from the Hermitian geometry and express the product conjugate connections in terms of these tensors. Some examples from the geometry of a pair of complementary distributions are discussed and for this case the above structural and virtual tensors are expressed in terms of O'Neill-Gray tensor fields.

Abstract:We give a dynamical proof of a result of Masser and Zannier [MZ2, MZ3] about torsion points on the Legendre family of elliptic curves. Our methods also treat points of small height. A key ingredient is the arithmetic equidistribution theorem on $\mathbb{P}^1$ of Baker-Rumely, Chambert-Loir, and Favre-Rivera-Letelier. Torsion points on the elliptic curve coincide with preperiodic points for the degree-4 Lattes family of rational functions. Our main new results concern properties of the bifurcation measures for this Lattes family associated to marked points.

Abstract:In this paper we study the analytic tangent cones of admissible Hermitian-Yang-Mills connections near a homogeneous singularity of a reflexive sheaf, and relate it to the Harder-Narasimhan-Seshadri filtration. We also give an algebro-geometric characterization of the bubbling set. This strengthens our previous result.

Abstract:We give a new proof of Kollár’s conjecture on the derived pushforward of the dualizing sheaf twisted by a variation of Hodge structure. This conjecture has been settled by M. Saito via the theory of mixed Hodge modules and has various applications in the investigation of Albanese maps. Our technique is L^2 theoretic which gives concrete constructions and proofs to the conjecture. The L^2 point of view allows us to generalize Kollár’s conjecture to the context of non-abelian Hodge theory.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the wild nonabelian Hodge correspondence for principal $G$-bundles on curves, where $G$ is a connected complex reductive group. We establish the correspondence under a ``very good" condition introduced by Boalch, and thus confirm one of his conjectures. We first give a version of Kobayashi--Hitchin correspondence, which induces a one-to-one correspondence between stable meromorphic parahoric Higgs torsors of degree zero (Dolbeault side) and stable meromorphic parahoric connections of degree zero (de Rham side). Then, by introducing a notion of stability condition on filtered Stokes local systems, we prove a one-to-one correspondence between stable meromorphic parahoric connections of degree zero (de Rham side) and stable filtered Stokes $G$-local systems of degree zero (Betti side). When $G={\rm GL}_n(\mathbb{C})$, the main result in this paper reduces to Biquad--Boalch's result.

This tensor product is used in the description of the universal ($\alpha$-)central extensions of Hom-Leibniz algebras. Abstract:Recently, Masuda-Sato and Precup-Sommers independently proved an LLT version of the Shareshian-Wachs conjecture which says that the Frobenius characteristics of the cohomology of the twin manifolds of regular semisimple Hessenberg varieties are unicellular LLT polynomials. The purpose of this paper is to study the geometry of twin manifolds and we prove that they are related by explicit blowups and fiber bundle maps. Upon taking their cohomology, we obtain a direct proof of the modular law which establishes the LLT Shareshian-Wachs conjecture.

On a Conjecture of Lan-Sheng-Zuo on Semistable Higgs Bundles: Rank 3 Case

Abstract:Let $X$ be a smooth projective curve of genus $g$ over an algebraically closed field $k$ of characteristic $p>2$. We prove that any rank $3$ nilpotent semistable Higgs bundle $(E,\theta)$ on $X$ is a strongly semistable Higgs bundle. This gives a partially affirmative answer to a conjecture of Lan-Sheng-Zuo \cite{LanShengZuo12ii}\footnotemark[1]. In addition, we prove a tensor product theorem for strongly semistable Higgs bundles with $p$ satisfying some bounds (Theorem \ref{TensorTheorem}). From this we reprove a tensor theorem for semistable Higgs bundles on the condition that the Lan-Sheng-Zuo conjecture holds (Corollary \ref{TensorStableBundle}).

Abstract:We construct an explicit abelian model for the operation of tensor $2$-product of $2$-representations of $\mathfrak{sl}_{2}^{+}$, specifically the product of a simple $2$-representation $\mathcal{L}(1)$ with a given abelian $2$-representation $\mathcal{V}$ taken from the $2$-category of algebras. We study the case $\mathcal{V}=\mathcal{L}(1)$ in detail, and we show that the $2$-product in this case recovers the expected structure. Our construction partially verifies a conjecture of Rouquier from 2008.
