Evaluation of Authors' Academic Influence Based on Weighted H-Index.

Abstract:The h-index is a commonly used mixed quantitative index used to evaluate the academic level of the authors of the paper. But in practice the h index is insensitive to high-quality papers in all papers published by scientists. By giving weight to high-quality papers, this paper puts forward a new index: index. It makes up for this deficiency. The index is improved on the basis of the traditional h-index which gives weight to different levels of papers published by scientists and evaluates the academic influence of scientists with a weighted h index. Obtaining JCR partition data and paper citations from the WOS database of scientists in different fields such as mathematics, computer science, medicine, etc.And Calculation and comparison the difference between index and h-index. Empirical analysis shows that the index can evaluate the academic level of scientists steadily, has a better differentiation from the h index, and the index can better highlight the index level of scientists with high paper quality and can appropriately reduce the index level of scientists with lower paper quality.This paper proposes a new index.While retaining the characteristics of simplicity, ease of use and easy calculation, it is effective, reasonable and can be popularized in practical application.
