Abstract:A copper-catalyzed mono-lateral protosilylation of dialkynylphosphine oxides for the synthesis of beta-silyl substituted vinylphosphine oxides is described. Various (hetero)aryl and alkyl-substituted diynes afforded the corresponding products in moderate and high yields with high chemoselectivity. An alternative alkynyl functional group of products could also be further derived.

Abstract:A highly chemo-,regio-,and stereo-selective cobalt-catalyzed dehydrogenative silylation of vinylarenes was described.The imidazoline iminopyridine cobalt complex could promote this reaction effectively and improve the chemoselectivity dramatically.This protocol used earth-abundant transition metal,readily available alkenes and hydrosilanes to construct valuable vinylsilanes.The reaction could be carried out in gramscale and the proposed mechanism was also described.

Abstract:A Rh2(OAc)4/XantPhos ((9,9-dimethyl-9H-xanthene-4,5-diyl)bis(diphenylphosphane)) catalyzed regio- and stereoselective hydrosilylation of alkynes with various tertiary silanes in acetonitrile represents a straightforward and highly effective strategy for the synthesis of β-(Z) vinylsilanes. Abstract:In general, the P-centered ring-opening of quaternary phosphirenium salts (QPrS) predominantly leads to hydrophosphorylated products, while the C-centered ring-opening is primarily confined to intramolecular nucleophilic reactions, resulting in the formation of phosphorus-containing cyclization products instead of difunctionalized products generated through intermolecular nucleophilic processes. Here, through the promotion of ring-opening of three-member rings by iodine anions and the quenching of electronegative carbon atoms by iodine cations, we successfully synthesize β-functionalized vinylphosphine oxides by the P-addition of QPrS intermediates generated in situ. Multiple β-iodo-substituted vinylphosphine oxides can be obtained with exceptional regio- and stereo-selectivity by reacting secondary phosphine oxides with unactivated alkynes. In addition, a variety of β-functionalized vinylphosphine oxides converted from C-I bonds, especially the rapid construction of benzo[b]phospholes oxides, demonstrates the significance of this strategy.

Abstract:An iron-catalyzed highly anti-Markovnikov selective, enantioselective hydrosilylation of vinylcyclopropanes with PhSiH3 was reported for the preparation of valuable chiral allylic silanes via stereospecific C-C bond cleavage. Simultaneously, difficultly prepared chiral VCPs could be also obtained with moderate to excellent enantioselectivity via this kinetic resolution pathway. The chiral Z-allylic silanes could be converted to various chiral allylic derivatives. A possible mechanism via an iron-silyl species was proposed based on experimental and computational studies.

Abstract:Abstract An enantioselective β-silylation of α,β-unsaturated phosphine oxide derivatives using a silylboronic ester as the silicon pronucleophile is reported. The reaction is catalyzed by copper salts in the presence of chiral pyridine–oxazoline (PyOx) ligands. Good to high enantioselectivities (≤95% ee) are obtained for β-aryl-substituted acceptors whereas alkyl residues in the β-position led to a lower ee value for 1° and no reaction for 2° and 3°. The new method represents another way of accessing α-chiral silanes and complements the known β-borylation.

Abstract:An efficient and general copper(I)-catalyzed method for the synthesis of multi-substituted vinylsilanes is reported. Multi-substituted allenes with electron-withdrawing groups and propiolate derivatives reacted well with (dimethylphenylsilyl)boronic acid pinacol ester to afford silyl-substituted butenoate derivatives and β-silyl-substituted acrylate derivatives, respectively. The corresponding products could be obtained in moderate to high yields and with good to excellent stereoselectivities.

Abstract:Vinylsilanes are very useful building blocks in organic synthesis and have widespread applications in life sciences and materials chemistry. Here we describe the potential of complex cis‐[Fe(PCP‐iPr)(CH2CH2CH3)(CO)2] as an effective catalyst for the hydrosilylation of both terminal and internal alkynes with SiPhH3 to give vinylsilanes. The reactions were typically performed with a catalyst loading of 1 mol% for 24 h at 70oC. The catalytic reaction is initiated by migratory insertion of a CO ligand into the Fe‐alkyl bond to yield an acyl intermediate which reacts with silanes to form the 16e‐ Fe(II) silyl catalyst [Fe(PCP‐iPr)(SiPhH2)(CO)]. In the case of aliphatic terminal alkynes good regioselectivity (anti‐Markovnikov addition) towards the thermodynamically more stable β‐(E)‐vinylsilanes in ratios of up to 10:90 was achieved, while for aromatic alkynes the selectivities were poor with ratios of β‐(Z)‐ to β‐(E)‐vinylsilanes of about 40:60. With internal unsymmetrical alkynes, the two possible regioisomers of the syn‐addition of SiPhH3 were obtained in different ratios with no clear trend towards one regioisomer. Internal symmetrical alkynes yielded exclusively the respective syn‐products in high yields. Mechanistic investigations including deuterium labelling studies were undertaken to provide a reasonable reaction mechanism.

Abstract:An efficient method for the synthesis of organophosphonates through palladium-catalyzed coupling of α-diazo phosphonates with benzyl or allyl halides has been developed. Trisubstituted alkenylphosphonates bearing versatile functional groups can be easily accessed in good yields and with excellent stereoselectivity through this method. Moreover, with similar strategy α-substituted vinylphosphonates can also be attained by the palladium-catalyzed coupling reaction of N-tosylhydrazones and aryl bromides. Migratory insertion of palladium carbene is proposed as the key step in this reaction.

Abstract:Zinc reagents (Me2PhSi)2Zn and [(Me3Si)3Si]2Zn undergo highly regio- and stereoselective addition across the carbon-carbon triple bond of nitrogen-, sulfur-, oxygen-, and phosphorus-substituted terminal alkynes in the absence of copper or any other catalyst. Both reagents yield exclusively β-isomers, and the stereoselectivity is determined by the silyl group: Me2PhSi for cis or (Me3Si)3Si for trans. These stereodivergent silylzincation protocols offer an efficient access to heteroatom-substituted vinylsilanes with either double bond geometry, including trisubstituted vinylsilanes by one-pot electrophilic substitution of the intermediate C(sp(2))-Zn bond by copper(I)-mediated carbon-carbon bond formation.

Abstract:An efficient Pd-catalyzed silylation reaction of benzylic halides with silylboronate is reported. In this reaction, primary and secondary benzylic halides could react well with silylboronates to afford benzylic silanes. This reaction accommodates a broad substrate scope and proceeds smoothly under very mild reaction conditions. Abstract:A concise hydrosilylation of alkynes for synthesizing β‐(E)‐vinylsilanes catalyzed by dirhodium(II)/XantPhos has been developed. In this reaction, β‐(E)‐vinylsilanes were generated from the isomerization of β‐(Z)‐vinylsilanes catalyzed by dirhodium(II) hydride species rather than the direct insertion of triple bond into M‐H or M‐Si bond (traditional Chalk–Harrod mechanism or modified Chalk‐Harrod mechanism). The hydrosilylation displayed a broad substrate scope for alkynes and tertiary silanes, tolerating diverse functional groups including halides, nitrile, amines, esters, and heterocycles.

Abstract:Organyl thiolate, selenolate or tellurolate anions reacted with allenyl phosphine oxides to give beta-(organochalcogenyl)allyl phosphine oxides in good yields. The reaction was regioselective, giving exclusively one isomer in all cases studied. The palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling of compound 3d with terminal alkynes to give beta-alkynyl allyl phosphine oxide underwent efficiently in moderate yields.

Abstract:This account primarily summarizes our recent work on the reactivity of in situ generated allylic phosphorus ylides with aldehydes. Under the mediation of stoichiometric tertiary phosphines, allylic carbonates or allenoates readily undergo highly stereoseiective three-component Wittig and vinyiogous Wittig olefination reactions through in situ generated allylic phosphorus ylides. These reactions constitute simple and efficient synthetic methods for polysubstituted 1,3-dienes. Under the catalysis of tertiary phosphines, gamma-methyl allenoates chemoselectively undertake several annulations with aldehydes via a key intermediate of allylic phosphorus ylide, providing atom economical synthesis of 5- and 6-membered oxygen heterocycles. By experimental approaches such as deuterium-labeling and NMR monitoring, mechanisms of the above mentioned reactions have also been investigated.

Abstract:The stereoselective and stereospecific gem‐silylborylation of chiral trans 2‐substituted 1‐ethynylepoxides affords (aS*,S*)‐4‐hydroxy‐1‐silyl‐1‐allenylboranes. The reaction of theses gem‐bimetallic species with aldehydes gives access to highly functionalized (anti,syn)‐2‐triethysilylethynyl‐1,3‐diols with a good diastereoselectivity. The highly stereoselective gem‐silylboration of chiral 2‐substituted 1‐ethynylepoxides is reported herein. The reaction involves first the deprotonation of the epoxides in the acetylenic position followed by transmetallation with Et3SiBpin. The transient silylborane ate‐complexes generated undergo the stereoselective 1,2‐migration of the Et3Si‐group to the sp‐hybridized terminus carbon of the ethynyl‐moiety in a stereospecific anti‐addition. The moisture‐sensitive and thermally unstable 4‐hydroxy‐1‐triethylsilyl‐1‐allenyl(pinacolato)boranes thus obtained react with aldehydes through an SE2'‐mode of addition, affording highly functionalized 2‐triethysilylethynyl‐1,3‐diols with a good diastereoselectivity which is rationalized by a Yamamoto‐Houk type transition state model.
