Abstract:With the abnormal permittivity and permeability, metamaterials such as left handed materials has become the hot focus in material filed. Most up-to-date metamaterials are artificial structures and confronted with numerous difficulties in processing technology, physics and materials science. Intrinsic negative permeability can be induced by ferromagnetic resonance in gyromagnetic materials, which provides an available approach to manufacture new materials. Because of its magnetotunable property and simplicity, metamaterials based on ferromagetic resonance have been attracting increasing attention. In this paper, a brief analysis of the principle of the ferromagnetic resonance is given. According to the composite structure, the metamaterials based on ferromagnetic resonance are classified into several kinds. Associating with our research work, the mechanisms of negative permittivity and permeability for those metamaterials have been expatiated. The corresponding theoretical and experimental results are also summarized, which provides some references for the development of metamaterials.
