Abstract:In this study, an emulsion adding nanoparticles and dispersants was investigated to dispel the ice adhere to the cooling surface. Various nanoparticles, such as alpha-Al2O3, gamma-Al2O3, TiO2 and SiO2 were studied in this paper. Polyoxyethylene (10) nonyl phenylether (referred to as TX-10) and sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (referred to as SDBS) were used as the surfactants to make the aqueous solution stable and even, as well as the ultrasonic vibration. The hydrophobic surfaces coating with two kinds of waterproof dope were studied. Through the experiments, it is concluded that the nanoparticles make a well improvement in enhancing thermal conductivity and decreasing the supercooling degree. Besides, the low surface energy imparted by the waterproof dope coated is responsible for the formation of lotus effect preventing ice from adhesion to the cooling wall, combined with the breakage of the temperature boundary layer near the cooling wall by the stirrer.
