Abstract:In the context of global climate change, the electric vehicle has great potential in the development of low-carbon transport; it will change a century of automotive development process which is so dependent on the fossil fuels. This article puts example on electric taxi demonstration operation in Hangzhou China, and analyses its historical background, economic benefit and environmental value. These works pave the way of large-scale promotion of the electric vehicles. With the promotion in battery performance and technology, the improvement of charging stations and other infrastructure, the pure electric vehicles will have rapid development [1]. We believe that it will improve the energy consumption structure, reduce the consumption of fossil energy, promote air quality, and achieve the sustainable development in the near future.
