Abstract:We present a new method, using asymptotic analysis, to obtain a system of recursion relations for integrals on moduli spaces of curves. By applying the asymptotic analysis on the join-cut relation of the ELSV formula, we derive the recursion relation of R. Dijkgraaf and E. and H. Verlinde, which is exactly the Virasoro constraints for topological gravity. This gives an alternative proof of Wittens Conjecture using asymptotic analysis.

Abstract:In this paper, we show that the generating function for linear Hodge integrals over moduli spaces of stable maps to a nonsingular projective variety X can be connected to the generating function for Gromov–Witten invariants of X by a series of differential operators $$\{ L_m \mid m \ge 1 \}$$ after a suitable change of variables. These operators satisfy the Virasoro bracket relation and can be seen as a generalization of the Virasoro operators appeared in the Virasoro constraints for Kontsevich–Witten tau-function in the point case. This result is a generalization of the work in Liu and Wang [Commun. Math. Phys. 346(1):143–190, 2016] for the point case which solved a conjecture of Alexandrov.

Abstract:For any semisimple Frobenius manifold, we prove that a tau-symmetric bihamiltonian deformation of its Principal Hierarchy admits an infinite family of linearizable Virasoro symmetries if and only if all the central invariants of the corresponding deformation of the bihamiltonian structure are equal to 1 24 . As an important application of this result, we prove that the Dubrovin-Zhang hierarchy associated with the semisimple Frobenius manifold possesses a bihamiltonian structure which can be represented in terms of differential polynomials.

Abstract:The Hodge tau-function is a generating function for the linear Hodge integrals. It is also a tau-function of the KP hierarchy. In this paper, we first present the Virasoro constraints for the Hodge tau-function in the explicit form of the Virasoro equations. The expression of our Virasoro constraints is simply a linear combination of the Virasoro operators, where the coefficients are restored from a power series for the Lambert W function. Then, using this result, we deduce a simple version of the Virasoro constraints for the linear Hodge partition function, where the coefficients are restored from the Gamma function. Finally, we establish the equivalence relation between the Virasoro constraints and polynomial recursion formula for the linear Hodge integrals.

Abstract:As the first step of proving the Hodge-FVH correspondence recently proposed in [17], we derive the Virasoro constraints and the Dubrovin-Zhang loop equation for special cubic Hodge integrals. We show that this loop equation has a unique solution, and provide a new algorithm for the computation of these Hodge integrals. We also prove the existence of gap phenomenon for the special cubic Hodge free energies.

Abstract:The first cohomology group of generalized loop Virasoro algebras with coefficients in the tensor product of its adjoint module is shown to be trivial. The result is used to prove that Lie bialgebra structures on generalized loop Virasoro algebras are coboundary triangular. The authors generalize the results to generalized map Virasoro algebras.

Abstract:We first study the quantum product on the big phase space defined by gravitational Gromov-Witten invariants. We then use this product to give an interpretation for various topological recursion relations and also use it to study the Virasoro conjecture proposed by Eguchi-Hori-Xiong and Katz. We will give a recursive formulation to the Virasoro conjecture and study properties of relevent vector fields, which will be useful in proving and applying the Virasoro conjecture for all genera. In the genus-2 case, we will prove that the genus-2 Virasoro conjecture can be reduced to the $L_{1}$ constraint for any manifold. In the case when the quantum cohomology of the underlying manifold is not too degenerate (in particular, is semisimple) we will prove an explicit formula expressing the generating function of genus-2 Gromov-Witten invariants in terms of genus-0 and genus-1 data. This result reduces the genus-2 Virasoro conjecture to a genus-1 problem for such manifolds.

Abstract:We explicitly solve a recurrence relation due to Feigin and Fuchs to obtain the Casimirs of the Virasoro algebra in terms of the inverse of the Shapovalov form.
