Abstract:A bi-functional electrode, comprising a substrate layer (1) and a capacitance-catalysis composite layer attached to the substrate layer (1), the capacitance-catalysis composite layer comprising a capacitor material, an electro-catalyst, and a binder; or comprising a substrate layer (1), a surface of one side of the substrate layer (1) being attached with a capacitor layer (2) containing a capacitor material, and a surface of the other side being attached with a catalysis layer (3) containing an electro-catalyst; or comprising a substrate layer (1), and a capacitance layer (2) containing a capacitor material and a catalysis layer (3) containing an electro-catalyst that are attached to the substrate layer (1), the capacitance layer (2) being disposed between the substrate layer (1) and the catalysis layer (3); or comprising a substrate layer (1), and a catalysis layer (3) containing an electro-catalyst and a capacitance layer (2) containing a capacitor material that are attached to the substrate layer (1), the catalysis layer (3) being disposed between the substrate layer (1) and the capacitance layer (2). When a battery assembled by using the electrode is not working, an electrical charge generated through reaction of active substances is stored in the capacitor material of the electrode, and the electrical charge is rapidly released at a moment when a circuit is switched on, so that electricity can be impulsively discharged in a form of a large current. The thickness of the capacitance layer (2) is controllable, and the electricity charge stored in the bi-functional electrode can be controlled by controlling the thickness of the capacitance layer (2). In a buttery-only working mode, the capacitance layer (2) can be used to improve the dynamic stability of the battery.
