Abstract:Mechanical design have experienced a long process of development, the improvement of design method and optimization method have always been the pursuit of any designer. In recent years, introduction of CAD/CAE have increased greatly the speed of design and experiment, making mechanical design undergo a fundamental leap. However, the whole process: design-trial-improvement, still needs manual control to complete, designers still face the problem of complex repeating process. In views of this bottleneck, we will conduct parametric modeling on complex mechanical system in PRO/E, and let key parts import into ANSYS to be flexible .Then, we will build and analyze rigid-flexible mixture virtual prototyping in automatic dynamic analysis of mechanical systems. At last, we will integrate this process in ISIGHT3.5, exploring design-trial-improvement integrated optimization and simulation method through the optimization of the size of key parts of complex mechanical system.

Abstract:Conventional geometric models couldn't meet the needs of Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) of products with complex shape. In order to solve this problem, a point-based geometric model applied to CAD/CAM was put forward. The definition of point-based geometric model and its application process of CAD/CAM were presented. The geometric properties, CAD method, CAM method, and CAD/ CAM system development method of this model were studied. The CAD/CAM application of shoe last showed that point-based geometric model was superior to conventional geometric models, and could realize CAD/CAM in some special products.

Abstract:Aiming at the problems in current cam profile optimization processes, such as simple dynamics models, limited geometric accuracy and low design automatization level, a new dynamic optimization mode is put forward. Based on the parameterization modeling technique of MSC.ADAMS platform, the different steps in current mode are reorganized, thus obtaining an upgraded mode called the "parameterized-prototype-based cam profile dynamic optimization mode". A parameterized prototype(PP) of valve mechanism is constructed in the course of dynamic optimization for cam profiles. Practically, by utilizing PP and considering the flexibility of the parts in valve mechanism, geometric accuracy and design automatization are improved.

Abstract:Gears are widely applied in mechanical design. As a gear has many design parameters, 3D design of gears on Pro/E is complex and time consumed. In this paper, design methods of parameleric modelling of involute dislodgement cylindrical gears is developed by using automatic part design program in Pro/E 2001. The results showed that software developed by above methods can be used to construct gears conveniently and quickly.

Abstract:Aimed at the problems in Cam-shape-line optimization process, such as, simplified dynamics model, geometric accuracy, automatization of design process, and so on, and mainly based on the parameterization modeling technique of MSC. ADAMS, reorganized the different steps in the design flow, a solution named 'Parameterized-prototype-based Cam-shape-line Optimization Process' was put forward. In consideration of the flexibility of the parts in valve mechanism, geometric accuracy and automatization of design process has reached a much higher level. The efficiency and accuracy of whole optimal process have been improved to a great extent.

Abstract:Having analyzed 3D parameterized design technique, a produce-level parameterized variant design method was presented based on CAD system, parametric thinking and hierarchical table in database. A parameterized variant design system based on SolidEdge was developed with SolidEdge, Access database and VB, which was to be the realization of this method. The method and system are successfully used in the parameterized variant design of a plastic injection machine.

Abstract:The key technologies of CAD/CAM integration of mechanical parts which include parametric modeling technology, model transformation of CAD/CAE and finite element modeling were studied. Based on redevelopment of UG, the process of parametric modeling about typical part was achieved. The identification, selection, extraction, and removal of the details in the CAD model were analyzed. The extraction approach of the mid-surface in the dimensional reduction of the CAD model was executed. The CAD/CAE integration system of the design and finite element analysis for mechanical parts was established by the redevelopment of UG and ANSYS with Visual C++, UG/Open and APDL as tools. The parametric design and automatic finite element analysis for mechanical parts were implemented.

Abstract:In consideration of the characteristics of standard parts including standardization,serialization and universalization as well as in order to reduce the design repetition,shorten development cycle and facilitate data management of standardized parts,the design method and design philosophy as well as realization method of product parameterized design are analyzed in the paper.Taking a bolt of vehicle standardized parts as an example,the parameterized design and modeling are performed using the CATIA V5 software,and the database is established accordingly.The result indicates that the parameterized design and database set-up of the standardized parts are practical and effective,not only improving design efficiency but also facilitating user management.

Abstract:Visual optimization design (VOD) is a sort of modern design method based three-dimensional model and modeling speed impacts the research efficiency of VOD directly. The technology of parametric modeling can build model rapidly by parameter drive, so it can provide good serving for VOD. In the paper, the method of parametric modeling is studied based on VOD of mechanical product. The relation of parametric modeling and VOD is analyzed and the general flow of opening parametric modeling system is proposed, which includes confirming functional module, analyzing parameters, parametric modeling for parts and automatism assembly and so on. At last, a 3-PPT parallel kinematics machine tool is taken as research object, a parametric modeling system is opened based on VOD by VB in the Solidworks. The validity is proved by this case.

Abstract:Three profiles of unsymmetrical cam in the forms of polydyne(POL),individual section acceleration(ISAC) and POL-ISAC curves were used in the valve cam design for a high speed diesel engine with side-mounted camshaft.Using two-mass kinetic models,displacement and speed curves of these profiles were calculated.Analyzing their fullness coefficient,jerk and max.contact stress between cam and tappet,the final optimized profile was determined.Based on the multi-freedom dynamic model,comparing with the original profile demonstrate the optimized profile has been improved in terms of impact force of valve on its seat,contact stress between cam and tappet,valve acceleration,valve speed and displacement,etc.

Abstract:Problem. The development of automotive technology for various purposes and the improvement of existing car models, requires a fast and flexible design process. Spatial models of details and nodes are the starting points for design, and the necessary design documentation is performed on their basis. When manufacturing parts on CNC machines, it is necessary to quickly obtain a control program that will increase the accuracy of the product by ensuring the optimal trajectory of the mutual movement of the part and the tool. Therefore, the creation of a comprehensive methodology for the design of car parts, their basic inspection and obtaining design documentation is an important technical task. Goal. The main goal of the work is to determine the rational sequence and basic principles of computer-aided design, research and manufacturing of car and engine parts, and the development of mathematical spatial models of surfaces in order to optimize control programs for CNC machines. Methodology. The approaches adopted in the work for solving the set goal are based on general design principles. The methods of conducting static and dynamic calculations, as well as spatial mathematical modeling of the processes of manufacturing parts were also used. Results. A comprehensive methodology for designing parts of engines and cars has been developed. The main principles of creating spatial models have been determined in order to achieve their flexibility and simple editing. Methods of automating the development of drawings and design documentation are described. The software options for the primary verification of static strength and frequency analysis are considered. A calculation program has been developed for constructing transient and amplitude-phase-frequency characteristics. The mathematical spatial modeling of typical surfaces of the camshaft is provided with the aim of further research and optimization of the development of a control program for processing on a CNC machine tool. Originality. The defined basic principles of designing parts of engines and cars provide an opportunity to create a flexible spatial model and more fully automate the process of drawing up technical documentation. The developed mathematical spatial models of the supporting and working surfaces of the camshaft make it possible to write a control program with the determination of the optimal trajectory of the mutual movement of the part and the tool. Practical value. The obtained results can be recommended when designing car parts and assemblies.

Abstract:To solve the practical application of direct measurement in accordance with the cam production generated by the processing of error,the paper brings forward a method that is based on curve smoothing and the three-dimensional drawing software——Pro/E to assist the reverse design of the conjugated cams.This method first eliminates the bad points by analysing the curvature,then smooths the main Cam's curve by polynomial fitting,in the end,uses Pro/E's motional simulation module to create the vice-cam.It avoids the error by calculating the vice-cam's contour line.

Abstract:The secondary development can realize the integration of commercial CAD and CAM/CAE software and has been widely used in the design of cutting tools. However, with the development of cutting tools design towards system integration, the integration effect cannot meet the needs of current tool design due to factors such as kernel and interface. Based on the independent semi open source modeling kernel Open CASCADE, this paper realizes the parametric design of solid end mills. The parametric design system of solid end mills is established by using Python as the underlying language and Python OCC. The system can generate data files, 2D drawings, and 3D models conforming to ISO 13399 standard and realize the cloud storage function of model data. The generated tool model data can be used for finite element simulation of cutting process, NC programming, and guiding tool manufacturing. Based on the established system, the centroid optimization of the imbalance characteristics of the variable pitch and variable helix end mill is carried out, which improves the dynamic balance of this type of cutter and provides an important reference value for the design of this type of cutter.

Abstract:Firstly this thesis summarized the research status about traditional modeling technology and the feature-based parameterized modeling technology about components. Secondly the article developed an idea of part parametric modeling technology research based on function module and its program realization method, on the basis of analyzing mechanical characteristic decomposition and building, parameter constraint condition, methods of module creating division and combination and numerical simulation of the part components modeling. In the text of the dissertation we also gave an example of gears and verified the validity and practical applicability about the text of the proposed method. Application of modular modeling technology can shorten modeling time and improve parts design efficiency for the same type and series of part. Especially it has great reference value on the creation of complex model.

Abstract:For the design of the x-axis feed system of the cradle five axis CNC machine tool, the entity modeling is carried out by using CATIA P3 v5r21 and Auto CAD; the x-axis design of the cradle five axis CNC machine tool is carried out and the accuracy and strength are checked; the CAE analysis of the structural strength and stability is carried out by using the general structural analysis module. The DMU kinematics module is used to eliminate the interference. Optimize the structural parameters to improve the stability and accuracy of machine tools.

Abstract:In order to satisfy the machining requirements of aero-engine casing in modern aviation industry, this paper investigates three main issues during the design and development process of a five-axis machine tool with high accuracy, stiffness and efficiency, including whole structure design, key components design, and supporting stiffness design. First, an appropriate structure of five-axis machine tool is determined considering the processing characteristics of aero-engine casing. Then, a dual drive swing head and a compact motorized spindle are designed with enough drive capability and stiffness, and related structure, assembly method, cooling technology, and performance simulation are given in detail. Next, a design method of supporting stiffness of guide is proposed through the deformation prediction of the spindle end. Based on above work, a prototype of machine tool is developed, and some experiments are carried out, including performance tests of swing head and motorized spindle, and machining of a simulated workpiece of aero-engine casing. All experimental results show that the machine tool has satisfactory accuracy, stiffness and efficiency, which meets the machining requirements of aero-engine casing. The main work can be used as references for engineers and technicians, which are meaningful in practice.
