Abstract:To study the fluid character of axial piston pump,a mathematical model of flow condition in piston chamber was developed with compressibility of fluid oil.The model was further improved by analysis of movement model of piston,cross area of valve plate,throttle coefficient,flow loss inside pump,etc.Besides,the model of whole piston pump with its hydraulic system was developed with lamped parameter method.A simulation system was built by using Matlab based on the mathematical pump model.A visual graphical user interface was established to automatically analyze the relation between pump geometric structure,working conditions,system parameters and flow conditions of pump.The flow conditions of the pump were tested by using pump flow ripple test rig.It is shown that the pressure pulsation and flow ripple results calculated by the mathematical model agree well with the experimental results.The analytical error can be controlled within 5%.It can be concluded that the developed mathematical model has high precision and can accurately predict the fluid character of axial piston pump.

Abstract:Because of the poor lubrication character of seawater,the design method for the slipper of the seawater axial piston pump has to be modified based on the oil one.The redundant squeezing force factor is smaller than the oil one when adopting redundant squeezing force method.When adopting hydrostatic balancing method,the flow regime of the variable damping is laminar but the fixed damping is turbulent.For this reason the pressure-flow character of the fixed damping is changed.So the length of the slim orifice is decreased and the stiffness theory of the hydrostatic bearing is invalid.

Abstract:Internal gear pumps have significant advantages over other types of pump, such like high operating pressure, efficient transmission of energy, long service life, little pressure ripples and low noise emissions. Due to the nature of water, such as, low viscosity, poor lubricity and high vapour pressure, the performance of water hydraulic internal gear pumps is totally different from the oil ones. Using tap water as working medium, the experiments of internal gear pump are implemented and the performances are obtained. The results indicate the floating plates are the key components of water hydraulic internal gear pumps which decide the efficiency and service life of the pumps. Then, the pressing forces acting on the floating plates and the contact stresses are calculated. Finally, the causes of wear failure of floating plates are investigated and some design principles in water hydraulic internal gear pumps are also proposed.

Abstract:Considering cavitation due to the high saturation vapor pressure of water and main fluid properties variationwith pressure,a mathematical model of the dynamic pressure and flow characteristics of a water hydraulic axial piston pump was built.The model was programmed in a MATLAB/Simulink platform and a prototype of water hydraulic pump was simulated as an example.The pressure,flow and cavitation characteristics of the prototype were analyzed based on simulation results.The investigation shows that the average discharge flow of the pump will decrease,obvious cavitation will occur in the cylinder chambers that are in suction process,flow and pressure ripple will be severe when the inlet pressure is low.As the inlet pressure increases,the cavitation in the cylinder chambers will reduce and only occur in transition regions between discharge and suction.The internal leakage of the pump is mainly due to the gap flow of the slipper/swash plate combination and the cylinder block/valve plate combination,and the effects of the piston/cylinder-block can be ignored.

Abstract:A new design scheme of hydraulic pumping unit was brought forward to meet the requirements of long-stroke and low-frequency in the process of oil extraction.By adopting the new compound cylinder and combining the technology of electro-hydraulic proportional control and hydraulic counterweight,the unit appears to be more compact and applicative,meets the demands of long-stroke,low-frequency and large-load,and makes stroke and frequency fully-variable.

Abstract:As the main power unit of hydraulic system , the swash plate axial piston pump has the advantages of stable performance, high rated pressure, high flow rate and high power ta weight ratio. However , he structure of the traditional swash plate axial piston pump is complex. There is reasonable contact between the slipper and the swash plate. There is severe sliding friction between them when the piston pump rotates, which can easily lead to the wear of the slipper Besides, the piston can be easily stuck by the large lateral force between the piston and the cylinder, which will affect the reliability and life of the piston pump. All there shortcomings limit the increase of the rotational speed and pressure of the swash plate axial piston pump. This study is based on a new type of cross wobble plate driving axial piston pump structure, its kinetic model and hydraulic model are established in ADAMS and AMESim respectively, then its liquid-solid coupling model is established in the ADAMS and AMESim co-simulation. The force situation and kinetic characteristics of the key components of the cross wobble plate driving axial piston pump such as piston and cylinder are analyzed and the lateral force variation curve between the pistons and cylinder block is drawn by ADAMS and AMESim co-simulation. Compare the co-simulation results with the theoretical calculation and Matlab calculation results of this model, the structural rationality and motion stability of the cross wobble plate driving axial piston pump is verified and its advantage that it has a significantly lower lateral force value compared to traditional swash plate axial piston pump is shown.

Abstract:The virtual prototype of axial piston pump is discussed in detailed through the application in investigation of piston/cylinder pair. Three sub-models are introduced firstly. The data is transferred between three sub-models through software interface. The liquid-solid coupling and rigid-flexible coupling of piston/cylinder pair model is achieved through the co-simulation model which is called virtual prototype. Then several related test rigs are mentioned. And the comparisons of simulation results and experimental results demonstrate that the virtual prototype of axial piston pump has a great potential in axial piston pump design. At last, the influence of load pressure, inclined angle of swash plate and clearance between piston and bushing on properties of piston/cylinder pair is analyzed. The simulation results indicate that the design of piston/cylinder pair is the key factor in determining the limit pressure and maximum swash plate angle, and reduction of clearance between piston and cylinder contributes to reduction of leakage and friction force of piston/cylinder pair, and improvement of the carrying ability of the oil film.

Abstract:The optimization of the valve plate transition region is an important way of reducing the noise emission for an axial piston pump. However, the optimized methods through simulation or experiment are actually trial and error, and they cannot indicate the precise structural parameters of the valve plate transition region. In this study, a new design method for the transition region of valve plate based on the matching of flow area and reduction of transient reverse flow was proposed, and with which a valve plate was designed. Then, the impact of the flow ripple in the discharge line of an axial piston pump and the pressure overshoot and undershoot in the piston chamber on hydraulic and structural noise for axial piston pump is discussed. The noise reduction effect of the axial piston pump with this valve plate was analyzed by adopting a flow characteristic simulation model. Finally, the results showed that the application of this design method could contribute much to the reduction of the flow ripple and elimination of the pressure overshoot and undershoot. As a consequence, the method can be used in the design of a low-noise open circuit axial piston pump.

Abstract:The 3D axial piston pump model was built based on virtual prototype technology (VPT).The actual kinematic pairs of the parts and fluid characters were introduced into the model,thus the virtual prototype of piston pump could work as a real pump.A solid-liquid and rigid-flexible coupling virtual prototype of axial piston pump with finite element model of piston was built.The stress and strain of piston were simulated.The simulation results accord with the theory and provide reference for structure improving and performance optimizing of axial piston pump.

Abstract:Traditional noise reduction method for axial piston pump by optimizing the transition area in the valve plate is based on specific structural parameters, which is of less meaning for valve plate design. The formation mechanism of the noise excitation sources of hydraulic noise and structural noise for axial piston pump was discussed. Then, aiming at elimination of the pressure overshoot in piston chamber, and control of the peak value and position of backflow into piston chamber, a forward design theory of distribution method with damping orifice and damping groove for axial piston pump was proposed. Finally, a valve plate was designed based on this design theory. The noise reduction effect of this valve plate was analyzed. Results showed that the application of this design method could reduce the flow ripple amplitude apparently and the pressure overshot could be almost eliminated. Because the structure of the damping groove was not appointed, this design theory can be used in the valve-plate design of different domestic axial piston pumps.

Abstract:A particular emphasis is placed on the virtual prototype technology (VPT) of axial piston pump. With this technology it is convenient and flexible to build a complicated 3D virtual based on real physical model. The actual kinematics pairs of the parts were added on the model. The fluid characters were calculated by hydraulic software. The shape of the parts, the flexible body of parts, etc were improved in this prototype. So the virtual prototype of piston pump can work in computer like a real piston pump, and the flow ripple, pressure pulsation, motion principle, stress of parts, etc can be investigated. The development of the VPT is introduced at the beginning, and the modeling process of the virtual prototype is explained. Then a special emphasis is laid on the relationship between the dynamics model and the hydraulic model, and the simulations on the flow ripple, pressure pulsation, motion principle, the stress and strain distribution of the middle shaft and piston are operated. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of the VPT are discussed. The improved virtual prototype of piston pump more tally with the real situation and the VPT has a great potential in simulation on hydraulic components.
Design and Experimental Studies of A Novel Double-Row Radial Piston Pump

Abstract:This paper proposed a novel double-row radial piston pump. In this pump, the transformation from the rotation of the shaft to the reciprocation of the piston is realized by a pentagon mechanism, and the oil is distributed by check valves, which are integrally designed on the pump body. Theoretical calculation demonstrated that this improved design can substantially reduce the force on the main shaft of pump. The formulas of instantaneous flow rate and fluctuation coefficient of the pump are deduced. For studying the working characteristics of the pump further, a prototype was manufactured and tested. Results show that when the rotation speed is over 125r/min, the performances of pump prototype are qualified, the fluctuation rate is limited to 20% and the volumetric efficiency can reach 90%. Moreover, the pump was disassembled after 100h of service and the wear condition was checked. Except for the pentagon which has indentation on the surface, the components of the pump are all kept intact.

Abstract:Aiming at the problems of small unit volume displacement and output torque,large pulse ratio and unbalance of self radial liquid-pressure for the hydraulic motor with an external mesh spur gear,a new type of hydraulic motor with multi cylindrical gears is proposed,and a thorough study on its working principles is carried out.Based on the different forms of the structure,it can be divided into two types: external mesh and balance type hydraulic motor,and their names are defined.Calculation formulas of the main performance indexs of the two types are given.Under the condition of meeting the displacement requirement and at the point of the small volume,a parametric design software of the two types is developed.The given design instance provides a convenient,reliable and practical design method for this type of hydraulic motor.

Abstract:As to the fuel injection system of electronic unit pump, of which fuel supply principles mainly be influenced by fuel supply camshaft. Due to the requirements of the diesel engine for the fuel supply system, a new method is presented to design the constant pressure injection fuel supply cam profile. First, design principles of the fuel supply camshaft profile according to the diesel engine combustion requirement are proposed and then the parametric equation for the camshaft profile can be obtained by the proposed principles which are analyzed through math method. At last, after the prediction and comparison of the designed camshaft profile, the conclusion shows that the fuel injection system designed by the proposed principle can satisfy the injection requirements of the diesel engine. Meanwhile, the parametric equations simplify the design process of camshaft profile so as to improve the reliability and the injection performance of the fuel supply system.

Abstract:(cid:4)The hydraulic power source used for hydraulic system and equipment of off-shore operation platform or in deep sea environment is required to be small-sized, portable, environmental protected and with high power density. To meet that demand, the axial piston canned motor pump with double swash plate is designed. The body of the axial piston pump with double swash plate is integrated in the rotor of the canned motor. The pump is suitable for working in the hostile underwater environment and it has a series of advantages like small-sized, portable, with compact structure, high power density and strong antipollution ability. The kinetic equilibrium is studied and the performance experiments of the prototype are carried. The results show that compared to the traditional pump which has three power units, motor, shaft coupling and piston pump, this one has sound heat dissipation performance and decreased working noise. Meanwhile, the performance curve satisfies the expecting requirements well so that the possibility of this kind pump is verified. Altogether, this kind of pump is a promising one and can provide a new idea for the designing of new hydraulic power unit.
