Abstract:We propose to measure the HZ gamma and H gamma gamma anomalous couplings in the process e(+)e(-)-> H gamma with the sequential decay of H -> b (b) over bar. The discovery potential of observing the anomalous couplings are explored in detail. Our study shows that future electron positron colliders have great potential to test the HZ gamma and H gamma gamma couplings. Abstract:We study the production of Higgs boson (phi) via the e(-)e(+)-> e(-)e(+)phi process at a future International Linear Collider (ILC) with root S=1 TeV. At this energy the ZZ-fusion rate, as predicted by the standard model, dominates over the associated ZH production rate. Here, we consider a class of theory models based on the effective phi VV (with V=Z, gamma) couplings generated by dimension-6 operators. We also show how to use the kinematical distributions of the final state leptons to discriminate the CP-even and CP-odd Higgs bosons produced at the ILC, when the phi gamma gamma coupling dominates the Higgs boson production rate.

Abstract:The precision measurement of the $WW\gamma$ vertex at the future Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) at CERN is discussed in this paper. We propose to measure this vertex in the $e^{-} p\to e^{-}W^{\pm}j$ channel as a complement to the conventional charged current $\nu_{e}\gamma j$ channel. In addition to the cross section measurement, $\chi^{2}$ method studies of angular variables provide powerful tools to probe the anomalous structure of triple gauge boson couplings. We study the distribution of the well-known azimuthal angle between the final state forward electron and jet in this vector-boson fusion (VBF) process. On the other hand, full reconstruction of leptonic $W$ decay opens a new opportunity to measure $W$ polarization that is also sensitive to the anomalous triple gauge boson couplings. Taking into consideration the superior determination of parton distribution functions~(PDFs) based on future LHeC data, the constraints of $\lambda_{\gamma}$ and $\Delta\kappa_{\gamma}$ might reach up to $\mathcal{O}(10^{-3})$ level in the most ideal case with the 2--3~ab$^{-1}$ data set, which shows a potential advantage compared to those from LHC and LEP data.

Abstract:The Circular Electron-Positron Collider (CEPC) is a future Higgs factory proposed by the Chinese high energy physics community. It is planned to operate at a center-of-mass energy of 240-250 GeV and is expected to accumulate an integrated luminosity of 5 ab(-1) over ten years of operation. At the CEPC, Higgs bosons will be dominantly produced from the ZH associated process. The vast number of Higgs events collected will enable precise studies of its properties, including Yukawa couplings to massive particles. With GEANT4-based simulation of detector effects, we study the feasibility of measuring the Higgs boson decaying into a pair of muons at the CEPC. The results with and without information from the Z boson decay products are provided, showing that a signal significance of over 10 standard deviations can be achieved and the H-p-p coupling can be measured within 10% accuracy.
Higgs boson decay h 0 → m V Z in the BLMSSM

Abstract:In the framework of BLMSSM, the Higgs decays h0 → Zγ and h0 → mV Z are studied where mV represents a vector meson(ρ, ω, φ, J/ψ,Υ etc.). Corrections to the CP-even and CP-odd h0γZ couplings occur via loop diagrams where new particles are involved. Actually both of them obviously influence the decay rates of h0 → Zγ and h0 → mV Z. Concretely, our obtained numerical result shows that the decay width of h0 → Zγ can be 1.3 times larger than the prediction of the Standard Model(SM). For the light mesons (ρ, ω), the corrections to h0 → mV Z are within 15% ∼ 20% still consistent with the SM results. The results of this work would encourage a detection on h0 → Zγ at LHC for exploring new physics beyond SM. PACS numbers: 11.30.Er, 12.60.Jv,14.80.Cp

Abstract:We study the incidence of genuine quartic vector boson couplings in the reactions e-e- -> e-e-ZZ, e-\nu ZW, \nu\nu WW. We find that a linear collider operated in the e-e- mode will provide bounds on these couplings which are competitive with those to be obtained in the e+e- mode.

Abstract:We calculate the gauge-boson pairs $W^-Z$, $W^-\gamma$, $W^+W^-$, $ZZ$ productions in the $e^- \gamma$ collisions, where the photon beam is realized by the laser back-scattering method. These processes are important tests for the non-abelian gauge sector of the standard model (SM). Precise calculations of these processes can therefore probe the anomalous gauge-boson interactions. Besides, these processes are important potential backgrounds for the intermediate mass Higgs (IMH) search in the $e\gamma\rightarrow WH\nu$ production.

Prospects of Measuring General Higgs Couplings at e^+e^- Linear Colliders

Abstract:We examine how accurately the general HZV couplings, with V=Z,gamma, may be determined by studying e^+e^- --> Hff-bar processes at future e^+e^- linear colliders. By using the optimal-observable method, which makes use of all available experimental information, we find out which combinations of the various HZV coupling terms may be constrained most efficiently with high luminosity. We also assess the benefits of measuring the tau-lepton helicities, identifying the bottom-hadron charges, polarizing the electron beam and running at two different collider energies. The HZZ couplings are generally found to be well constrained, even without these options, while the HZ-gamma couplings are not. The constraints on the latter may be significantly improved by beam polarization.

Abstract:The Minimal Higgsless Model predicts the existence of new vector gauge boson W1±. By the process PP → W1±qq → W ± Z0qq, Z0 → l+l−, W ± → qq (l = e,μ; q is hadronized to be jets), we study the sensitivity of searching for this possible vector gauge boson in the level of generator events of signal and backgrounds, then give integrated luminosity required to discover 5σ signal as a function of W1± mass. The generator for the signal PP → W1±qq → W±Z0qq at tree level is developed with the Minimal Higgsless Model and then interfaced with PYTHIA for the parton showers and hadronization. The backgrounds are produced with MadGraph and PYTHIA.

Abstract: Rare decay of the Higgs boson is a powerful tool to probe new physics beyond the standard model. The rare decays occur through quantum loops in which the standard model and new physics contributions might cancel each other out. We consider a faked-no-new-physics scenario that the new physics contributions are about minus two times the standard model contribution such that partial widths of Higgs boson rare decays are the same as the standard model predictions. We propose to measure the $HZ\gamma$ and $H\gamma\gamma$ anomalous couplings in the process of $e^+ e^- \to H\gamma$ that is strongly correlated to Higgs boson rare decays. We show that the faked-no-new-physics scenario can be fully probed at a high energy electron-positron collider.

Abstract:We explore the potential of a future e+e- collider in the 0.5 TeV center-of-mass energy range to detect intermediate or heavy Higgs bosons in the standard model. We first briefly assess the logistics for finding a Higgs boson of intermediate mass, with M(Z) < m(H) < 2M(W). We then study in detail the possibility of detecting a heavy Higgs boson, with m(H) > 2M(W), through the production of pairs of weak bosons. We quantitatively analyze the sensitivity of the process e+e- --> nunuBARW+W-(ZZ) to the presence of a heavy-Higgs-boson resonance in the standard model. We compare this signal to various backgrounds and to the smaller signal from e+e- --> ZH --> mu+mu-W+W-(ZZ), assuming the weak-boson pairs to be detected and measured in their dominant hadronic decay modes W+W-(ZZ) --> 4 jets. A related Higgs-boson signal in 6-jet final states is also estimated. We show how the main backgrounds from e+e-W+W- (ZZ), enuWZ, and ttBAR production can be reduced by suitable acceptance cuts. Bremsstrahlung and typical beamstrahlung corrections are calculated. These corrections reduce Higgs-boson production by scattering mechanisms but increase production by annihilation mechanisms; they also smear out some dynamical features such as Jacobian peaks in p(T)(H). With all these corrections included, we conclude that it should be possible to detect a heavy-Higgs-boson signal in the nunuBARW+W-(ZZ) channels up to mass m(H) = 350 GeV.

Abstract:Triple gauge boson production at the LHC can be used to test the robustness of the Standard Model and provide useful information for VBF di-boson scattering measurement. Especially, any derivations from SM prediction will indicate possible new physics. In this paper we present a detailed Monte Carlo study on measuring W ± W ± W ∓ production in pure leptonic and semileptonic decays, and probing anomalous quartic gauge WWWW couplings at the CERN LHC and future hadron collider, with parton shower and detector simulation effects taken into account. Apart from cut-based method, multivariate boosted decision tree method has been exploited for possible improvement. For the leptonic decay channel, our results show that at the √(s)=8(14)[100] TeV pp collider with integrated luminosity of 20(100)[3000] fb −1 , one can reach a significance of 0.4(1.2)[10] σ to observe the SM W ± W ± W ∓ production. For the semileptonic decay channel, one can have 0.5(2)[14] σ to observe the SM W ± W ± W ∓ production. We also give constraints on relevant Dim-8 anomalous WWWW coupling parameters.

Abstract:We have studied the LHC discovery potential of a new charged vector boson W-1(+/-) predicted by the minimal Higgsless model in the process pp -> W-+/-* -> W(1)(+/-)Z(0) -> W(+/-)Z(0)Z(0) -> qq' l(+)l(-)l(+)l(-) (l = e, mu) by analyzing generator level events of the signal and backgrounds. The generator for the signal pp -> W(1)(+/-)Z(0) -> W(+/-)Z(0)Z(0) at the tree level is developed with the minimal Higgsless model and then interfaced with PYTHIA for the parton showers and hadronization. The backgrounds are produced with MadGraph and PYTHIA. The integrated luminosity required to discover a signal at the 5 sigma significance level is estimated as a function of the W-1(+/-) mass.

Abstract:The excess events reported by the ATLAS collaboration in the WZ-final state, and by the CMS collaboration in the e[Formula: see text]e[Formula: see text]jj, Wh and jj-final states, may be induced by the decays of a heavy boson W[Formula: see text] in the 1.8–2 TeV mass range, here modeled via the larger local group SU(2)L × SU(2)R × U(1)[Formula: see text] in a nonlinear dynamical Higgs scenario. The W[Formula: see text]-production cross-section at the 13 TeV LHC is around 700–1200 fb. This framework also predicts a heavy Z[Formula: see text] boson with a mass of 2.5–4 TeV, and some decay channels testable in the LHC Run II. We determine the cross-section times branching fractions for the dijet, dilepton and top-pair Z[Formula: see text]-decay channels at the 13 TeV LHC around 2.3, 7.1, 70.2 fb, respectively, for M[Formula: see text] = 2.5 TeV, while one/two orders of magnitude smaller for the dijet/dilepton and top-pair modes at M[Formula: see text] = 4 TeV. Nonzero contributions from the effective operators, and the underlying Higgs sector of the model, will induce sizeable enhancement in the W[Formula: see text]W[Formula: see text] and Zh-final states that could be probed in the future LHC Run II.
Probing Cp-Violating H(T)Over-Bart Coupling in E(+)E(-) -> H Gamma

Abstract:We investigate the possibility of probing the CP-violating h (t) over bart coupling in the process e(+)e(-) -> h gamma at the future high luminosity e(+)e(-) colliders. Our numerical results show that the cross section for this process can be significantly increased for the allowed CP phase xi and center of mass energy. For example, the cross section is about 10 times that in the standard model (SM) for root s = 350 GeV and xi = 3 pi/5 (see text for xi definition). The simulation for the signal process e(+)e(-) -> h gamma -> b (b) over bar gamma and its backgrounds shows that the signal significance can reach about 5 sigma and more than 2.1 sigma for root s = 350 GeV and 500 GeV, respectively, with the integrated luminosity L = 3 ab(-1) and xi is an element of[pi/2, 3 pi/5]. For L = 10 ab(-1), the signal significance can be greater than 5 sigma for root s = 350 GeV and about 4 sigma for root s = 500 GeV with the CP phase xi is an element of[pi/2, 3 pi/5]. Besides the cross section enhancement, the CP-violating h (t) over bart coupling will induce a forward-backward asymmetry A(FB) which is absent in the SM and is a clear signal of new CP violation. Compared with the A(FB) in the Higgs decay h -> l(+)l(-)gamma, the A(FB) can be greatly enhanced in the production process. For example, A(FB) can reach -0.55 for xi = pi/4 and root s = 500 GeV. Because of the large backgrounds, the significance of the expected A(FB) can be observed only at 1.68 sigma with L = 10 ab(-1) and root s = 500 GeV. It is essential to trigger the single photon in the final state to separate the bottom jets arising from scalar or vector bosons, in order to isolate the signal from the backgrounds more efficiently.

Abstract:A sensitive way to test the anomalous HVV (V=W-+/-,Z(0)) couplings via pp -> W(+)W(+)jj ->center dot(+)nu center dot(+)nu jj at LHC was proposed by Zhang, Kuang, He, and Yuan [Phys. Rev. D 67, 114024 (2003)]. We studied the sensitivity to measure the anomalous gauge couplings of Higgs boson with optimized cuts. In this way, the sensitivity can be enhanced. Based on the optimized cuts and distribution of Delta Pt(center dot center dot), the measurement of the couplings can be further improved with a binned maximum likelihood fit. It shows that, with an integrated luminosity of 300 fb(-1), the anomalous HWW and HZZ couplings can be measured at the level of 0.007-0.032 and 0.007-0.013 TeV-1, respectively, for the linearly realized effective Lagrangian.

Abstract:In this study, we aim to explore the potential for generating events related to dark matter (DM) in conjunction with a neutral heavy gauge boson (Z$^{\prime}$) decaying leptonically during proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). These collisions occur at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}$ = 14 TeV, with a high integrated luminosity equivalent to 1000 fb$^{-1}$. Our analysis involves interpreting the outcomes through Monte Carlo simulation of the effective field theory (EFT) framework. If no new physics is detected, we establish constraints on various parameters within the EFT context, such as the scenario cutoff scale ($\Lambda$) and the Z$^{\prime}$ mass.

Abstract:Triple gauge boson associated production at the LHC serves as an interesting channel to test the robustness of the Standard Model.
