The Human Geographyical Environment Changes of Royal Capital Luoyang for One Thousand Years and the Luoyang Study

Abstract:Geographical position and natural human condition for the urban development, especially in the capital, might acceler?ate or delay the effects of its establishment and development, and in certain historical conditions it might have a decisive impact. Luoy?ang in 5000 years′history of the Chinese nation civilization was able to become the imperial city for one thousand years, the excellent geographical environment, especially the unique advantages of"Center in the World", easy to defend and difficult to attack, and con?venient traffic condition were its congenital condition; the rich culture of the Central Plains, especially the formation of the culture of tolerance, inheritance and innovation, were its cultural security. After the Northern Song Dynasty, Luoyang and the Central Plains gradually declined, and China′s macro geographical pattern changes and the change of the human environment were directly related to it. Since the founding of new China, Luoyang has become China′s industrial powerhouse, produced great development vigor, it is close?ly related to its geographical background and cultural environment. Along with the reform and opening up, with the rising of Central Plains, Luoyang Study attracted international academic attention. Studying Luoyang, the imperial city for one thousand years, its forma?tion, evolution, development change law and its inclusive culture, can better explain why only the Chinese traditional civilization sur?vived in the world′s top four civilizations, and always has a lot of toughness, sustainable development and the innovation ability. In the new process of globalization which takes the construction of"One Belt and One Road" pushed by China as carrier, the inclusive culture which is inheriting and supporting this development ability is especially worthy of in-depth study and further carrying forward, it is a supporting science in Central Plains brand for building the philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics.
