The concept and revolution of the male climacteric

Abstract:The concept of "male climacteric disease" appeared in Britain in the early 19th century.In the late 1930s,with the synthesis and clinical application of testosterone,"male climacteric" turned into a disease.However,the authenticity of the disease and the effectiveness of its therapy was questioned,and soon fade out of the medical professions' vision.Until the 1990s,with the appearance of the new disease named "late-on set hypogonadism in males",the male climacteric revived again.The concept of " male climacteric" was introduced into the Chinese medical community in the 1980s,and soon both Chinese and western medicine began to pay attention to the diagnosis and treatment of this disease.After 2000,under the new name of the disease,the number of research papers began to rise continuously.In the meantime,numerous popular literature on " male climacteric" emerged.However,as the confusing definition of male climacteric,it hasn't been universally recognized by the public.
