Abstract:In the new era,the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents in undergraduate education faces the challenge of effectively transforming external resource investment into the internal development motivation of academic talents.There is a lack of procedural and traceable scales for the development of top-notch students in existing research.This study is based on the policy context and practical context of cultivating top-notch undergraduate talents in China,and proposes the core concept of"academic self-identity"for the development of"top-notch students"through qualitative research.This concept includes five key dimensions:academic self-efficacy,academic value identification,academic recognition by others,academic interest,and academic belonging.This study developed the Academic Self-identity Scale for Top Chinese College Students based on this conceptual framework,and conducted item analysis,factor analysis,reliability and validity tests on survey data from 2,524 sample undergraduate students at T University.The results indicate that the scale has a reasonable structure and good reliability and validity.On the one hand,this study can enrich the academic understanding of the theory of cultivating top-notch undergraduate talents,and on the other hand,it can provide a tracking scale for analyzing the academic development of this special group of"top students".
