Abstract:Ever-increasing demand for high-speed internet connections motivates cellular operators to upgrade their incumbent networks to the next-generation networks. In this correspondence paper, we study how an operator dynamically manages the budget flow during network upgrade to maximize the final-stage profit. Considering the time discount effect, we propose dynamic deployment policies for the next-generation network that trade off revenues and costs at each stage, and decide the optimal network expansion for the operator. We show that the time discount factor can have opposite effects to boost or hinder the network deployment, which depends on the depreciation of both the revenues and the costs. Furthermore, we extend our model and analysis to a market with more than one operator, where operators under radio access networks (RANs) sharing agreement jointly deploy the next-generation networks, and share the deployment and operational costs. A well-coordinated network upgrade under RAN sharing will speed up the deployment process and lead to a wider next-generation network coverage.

Abstract:In order to settle down and get on well with their pursuits, high-tech enterprises should have core technologies with their own intellectual property rights (IPR). Technology innovation in a sustainable way can provide in the strategies of firms by advancing core technologies. But technology innovation activities are unpredictable and their processes are also full of all kinds of traps, so that firms often drive themselves into "the war of innovative attrition", and have to face innovation's dilemma. When fail in innovation, companies always face huge business venture and bankruptcy with great probability. How to increase the odds of technology innovation success? This paper aims at answering this question, by focusing on the impact of the people-oriented strategy of technology innovation (POSTI) including technology, management and marketing innovation which is implemented by all employees on high innovation performance by some case study from Chinese telecommunication enterprise, such as Datang Group. In the end of the paper, some main points of this paper and future researches on IbE are put forward in this paper.

Abstract:This study examines the development of the Chinese communications industry and the status of cooperation between China and Korea in smart operations and maintenance (O&M). It highlights China’s rapid advancements in network infrastructure, communication revenue, and cellular IoT users, offering new opportunities for Sino-Korean collaboration in smart O&M. However, challenges such as technology gaps, standards differences, and cultural barriers exist. Strategies proposed include promoting technology exchange, joint R&D, standard harmonization, and market expansion. Despite limitations in data availability and challenge analysis, this study aims to inform policymakers, corporate decision-makers, and industry experts to address challenges and promote sustainable development in the communication industry. Future research will integrate quantitative studies to identify key challenges objectively and aid stakeholders in clarifying management priorities.

Abstract:The high bandwidth and low latency features of 5G network are perceived to offer a unified platform for multiple device connectivity in real time. Despite the promising benefits of disruptive 5G wireless technology, literature on 5G-enabled supply chain management is scarce. The paper, therefore, explores the role of 5G and its impact on supply chain management through a systematic literature review. Various aspects of 5G technologies in an environment of Industry 4.0, Supply Chain 4.0 and supply chain processes are discussed. Bibliometric results reveal that 5G-enabled supply chain management is a very recent topic and published in a very limited way. We find that most studies have focussed on technical features of emerging 5G and its impact being conceptualised on Industry 4.0 and Supply Chain 4.0. Areas of future supply chain management research that can support 5G are discussed.

Abstract:The next phase of satellite technology is being characterized by a new evolution in non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) satellites, which conveys exciting new communication capabilities to provide non-terrestrial connectivity solutions and to support a wide range of digital technologies from various industries. NGSO communication systems are known for a number of key features such as lower propagation delay, smaller size, and lower signal losses in comparison to the conventional geostationary orbit (GSO) satellites, which can potentially enable latency-critical applications to be provided through satellites. NGSO promises a substantial boost in communication speed and energy efficiency, and thus, tackling the main inhibiting factors of commercializing GSO satellites for broader utilization. The promised improvements of NGSO systems have motivated this paper to provide a comprehensive survey of the state-of-the-art NGSO research focusing on the communication prospects, including physical layer and radio access technologies along with the networking aspects and the overall system features and architectures. Beyond this, there are still many NGSO deployment challenges to be addressed to ensure seamless integration not only with GSO systems but also with terrestrial networks. These unprecedented challenges are also discussed in this paper, including coexistence with GSO systems in terms of spectrum access and regulatory issues, satellite constellation and architecture designs, resource management problems, and user equipment requirements. Finally, we outline a set of innovative research directions and new opportunities for future NGSO research.

Greening Service Capacity in Telecom Supply Chain under Environmental Regulation

Abstract:Comprehensive understandings about how to realize service capability greenness in the telecom sector are still rare. In this paper, a non-serial telecom supply chain consisting of an infrastructure supplier, a content provider and a telecom operator is formulated under environmental regulation. The telecom operator aims to find the optimal green procurement ratio between traditional and green equipment. Some common real-life situations are assumed, and the service capacity greenness problems are solved by game theory regarding coordination and interaction among supply chain partners. The results show that the prevailing concern of managers' "energy saving is not money saving" is the direct reason for a mixed purchase strategy. Further, when diseconomy of purchasing energy-saving equipment reaches a certain threshold, tightening environmental regulation may cause telecom companies to reduce the proportion of energy-saving equipment purchased. Finally, the telecom sector is characterized by its booming service capacity per equipment, which benefits green purchase ratio greatly. When the other six influencing factors are relatively stable, the driving force of telecommunication technology update will push the telecom sector to a greener future.

Abstract:With the rapid development of science and technology and the integration of the global economy, competition in the global market has become increasingly fierce, and competition between enterprises has gradually become competition between supply chains. The application of Internet technology to the agricultural industry chain has a wide potential for development, and the LoT and the big data have become an important pillar of the development of smart agriculture. The implementation of Internet technology improves the degree of visibility and transparency of the agricultural supply chain, reduces supply chain uncertainty and improves the smart management of the supply chain. Research, development and implementation of technology 5g LoT brings new development opportunities for traditional supply chain management. In order to understand changes in the production and life of people under the 5g Internet environment of things, this document uses case analysis and bibliographic analysis methods for the collection of documents from the CNKI, Wanfang database, SSCI and other databases and analyses different fields of life using GIS spatial analysis technology. The results of the survey show that, in the case of the use of the 5g LoT, the supply chain may provide more information on the development of an intelligent supply chain, the smart level of chain efficiency has significantly improved, and the percentage is approximately 25%. This article takes as an example the supply of cars, with the help of the LoT system, the accuracy of delivery and the speed of logistics transport have improved significantly. In the smart model, the coefficient can reach 0813, which shows that smart management of the supply chain fewer than 5g LoT can play a major role.

Abstract:Digital connectivity has become the foundation of prosperity and an essential need for functioning societies. Despite this dependence, limitation on Internet access remains a prevalent issue, largely hinged on socioeconomic and geographic factors. A promising solution to attain global access equality is based on integrated terrestrial-satellite networks that rely on low Earth orbit (LEO) mega constellations. While the benefits of LEO constellations complement the shortcomings of terrestrial networks, their incorporation impacts the network design, adding complexity and challenges. This article presents a systematic analysis of next generation LEO mega satellite constellations and outlines opportunities by virtue of the many benefits these constellations can provide and highlights the major challenges. Furthermore, it provides a synopsis of analytic models and underscores modern simulation approaches for next generation mega satellite constellations. This provides network designers with the necessary insights into satellite network performance.

Abstract:In this paper, the telecom value-added service chain with two service providers and one mobile operator is studied. Advertisement which is provided by Advertisers is implanted into value-added products as profit elements. First, the model is established by using game theory. In such a telecom supply chain, SPi is the follower and MP is the leader. Then, the optimal strategies are obtained through strict theoretical proof. Finally, we get the optimal decision when mobile operator and service provider have different profit share, and contrast the difference of product price, profits through the simulation. The paper provides a good idea for operations and management of the enterprise.

Abstract:Fifth-generation (5G) networks offer high-speed data transmission with low latency, increased base station volume, improved quality of service (QoS), and massive multiple-input–multiple-output (M-MIMO) channels compared to 4G long-term evolution (LTE) networks. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the achievement of mobility and handover (HO) in 5G networks due to significant changes in intelligent devices and high-definition (HD) multimedia applications. Consequently, the current cellular network faces challenges in propagating high-capacity data with improved speed, QoS, latency, and efficient HO and mobility management. This comprehensive survey paper specifically focuses on HO and mobility management issues within 5G heterogeneous networks (HetNets). The paper thoroughly examines the existing literature and investigates key performance indicators (KPIs) and solutions for HO and mobility-related challenges while considering applied standards. Additionally, it evaluates the performance of current models in addressing HO and mobility management issues, taking into account factors such as energy efficiency, reliability, latency, and scalability. Finally, this paper identifies significant challenges associated with HO and mobility management in existing research models and provides detailed evaluations of their solutions along with recommendations for future research.

Abstract:6G is the next-generation intelligent and integrated digital information infrastructure, characterized by ubiquitous interconnection, native intelligence, multi-dimensional perception, global coverage, green and low-carbon, native network security, etc. 6G will realize the transition from serving people and people-things communication to supporting the efficient connection of intelligent agents, and comprehensively leading the digital, intelligent and green transformation of the economy and the society. As the core support system for mobile communication network, 6 6G BSS need to integrate with new business models brought about by the development of the next-generation Internet and IT, upgrade from "network-centric" to "business and service centric" and "customer-centric". 6G OSS and BSS systems need to strengthen their integration to improve the operational efficiency and benefits of customers by connecting the digital intelligence support capabilities on both sides of supply and demand. This paper provides a detailed introduction to the overall vision, potential key technologies, and functional architecture of 6G BSS systems. It also presents an evolutionary roadmap and technological prospects for the BSS systems from 5G to 6G.

Abstract:In the group vertical handover (GVHO) scenario, many mobile terminals (MTs) send handover requests almost at the same time. The traditional vertical handover (VHO) schemes assume that the VHO user is coming one by one, so the current user knows the decision results of previous users, then the optimal result can be obtained. In GVHO scenario, multiple VHO decisions need to be made simultaneously, if the traditional VHO scheme was applied in this scenario, it may lead to system performance degradation or network congestion, because the decision-making MT does not know the results of other concurrent VHO users, so it may selfishly select the best networks just like in common VHO scenario. Therefore, three decision-making models for GVHO are proposed in this paper, and there performance comparisons are analyzed through numerical simulations.

Abstract:Abstract With the rapid development of society, the social demand for electricity is increasing day by day, which puts forward higher requirements for the power communication network, which makes the application effect of optical transmission network technology gradually significant. In view of the characteristics and functions of optical transmission network (OTN), continuous extension and expansion are carried out to realize the gradual integration of smart grid communication system. Based on this, this paper studies the smart grid communication system based on OTN technology. Based on the analysis of the characteristics and key technologies of OTN technology, combined with the communication requirements of smart grid communication system, the specific application of OTN technology in smart grid communication system is studied, and the application of OTN technology in power communication network is taken as the experimental group Finally, the application of OTN technology in power communication network is explored. The results show that the average score of the experimental group is 3.3 higher than that of the control group in terms of service adaptability, service demand satisfaction and intelligent level of communication network. Therefore, it is very necessary to establish the backbone optical transmission network of power communication by using OTN technology, so as to provide guarantee for the safe and stable operation of smart grid.

Abstract:Next-generation network (NGN) is a new concept and becoming more and more important for future telecommunication networks. This paper illustrates five function layers of NGN architecture and discusses some end-to-end QoS (quality of service) issues for NGN (called NGNQoS). The five function layers are: (1) Application Layer that supports SIP protocol; (2) Network Control Layer that aims at overcoming the bottleneck problems at edge nodes or servers for end-to-end admission control; (3) Adaptation Layer that supports different network configurations and network mobility; (4) Network Transmission Layer that provides end-to-end QoS control for real-time communications through integrating Differentiated Service (DiffServ) and Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) and (5) Management Layer that provides Web-based GUI browser for data presentation, monitoring, modification and decision making in NGN.

Abstract:The 5G technology enables a more comprehensive satisfaction of individuals' varied requirements by capitalizing on its improved information transmission efficiency and stronger signals. Investigating the innovative development of 5G technology contributes to enhancing network security and stability, thereby furthering enterprise digital transformation. This paper analyzes all 55 texts from the “News” section of Huawei’s official website’s 5G topic, which contain descriptions of Huawei's 5G innovation ecosystem. Building upon the actor-network theory, the study employs text coding to discern and classify actors and other elements that participate in the enterprise innovation ecosystem, and describes the collaborative network construction process with Huawei as the central actor. The study finds that heterogeneity in actor network theory plays an important role in the study of corporate innovation ecosystems. The four links of "Problematisation", "Interesssement", "Enrollment" and "Mobilization" clearly describe the process of constructing a network of actors in STI activities. The actor network of Huawei's 5G technology innovation ecosystem is characterised by continuous openness and stable operation. Facilitating the digital transformation of the industry is the main reason for other actors to join Huawei's 5G technology innovation ecosystem actor network.
