Abstract:Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a newcomer in supply chain area. With the help of RFID technology, real time information can be collected. Multi-agent technology is a popular way to address distributed supply chain management (SCM), and information sharing plays a key role in multi-agent system. To give multi-agent based model more power and facility, we present a RFID based multi-agent model, in which information synchronization is realized by employing RFID technology at item level. The RFID based multi-agent system is constructed, intra- and inter-coordination mechanism of this system are discussed.

Abstract:The agent-based negotiation between enterprises is an important part of the supply chain management. First, we analyze the key constituents in the supply chain management from multi-agent and single agent's perspective. Then, a general negotiation model according to negotiation features of the supply chain is presented. In the model, we design a flexible protocol and analyze the agent's decision model.

Abstract:The application of multi-agent technology based on genetic algorithm to supply chain management is studied. A supply chain model composed of multi-module is built by multi-agent technology. Then it is shown how to realize the optimization in the process of supply chain management. A practical example is analyzed, and its result states that better results on the optimization problem of this category of complex non-linear systems can be obtained if the multi-agent technology based on genetic algorithm is applied.

Abstract:Multiagent construction supply chain management system (MCSCMS) is a set of agents, software and technology designed to focus and enhance the communication, deliberations and decision-making of groups. MCSCMS is successful in improving the efficiency, reliability and quality of the group decision-making process. This paper aims to introduce the application of MCSCMS so as to improve the implementation of construction supply chain management (CSCM). It begins with an introduction to construction supply chain (CSC),CSCM and the difficulties of implementing CSC. In order to resolve the problems in CSC and promote the performance of CSCM, a multiagent construction supply chain management system is designed based on the multiattribute negotiation technology. This is followed by a description of the MCSCMS framework to illustrate how this framework can provide support in discussion, information, collaboration and decision analysis to overcome the existing difficulties in CSC. The benefits of using the proposed system in CSCM have also been discussed.

Abstract:Recently multi-agent system (AMS) is regarded as a powerful Paradigm to develop and simulate complex system Because supply chain ( SC) is a complex network, it is hard to improve supply chain management ( SCM) efficiency and automate SC operating process. Researchers haze applied MAS in SCM viewing enterprises in SC as different functional agents collaborating to achieve common goal. In this paper a AILAS-based supply chain management framework (MSF) is developed on which agents can collaborate to conduct business activities of enterprises and customers. Six kinds of functional agents are designed, namely, management agent, order receiving agent, order decomposing agent, resource agent, manufacturing-con trolling agent and transportation agent. Through the agents' collaboration the MSF can support SC dynamic forming and operating process. For partner selection the method to transmit customers' order into demand matrix, and transmit enterprise 's resource capacity into resource matrix is described in detail. The MSF users decide which algorithm to be applied in matching the two matrixes, and algorithms are stored in model base. Finally the generic agent architecture is put forward.

Abstract:This paper describes an ongoing effort in developing a Multi-agent System (MAS) for supply chain management for assisting in decision- making. We experimentally evaluate various scheduling algorithms used by suppliers to schedule the orders allocated to them. Our aim is to investigate how well suppliers can make decisions to create a schedule that is flexible in accommodating unforeseen events. We also investigate the effects of a price adjustment scheme to adjust bids when a supplier agent perceives reduced competition from other suppliers.

Abstract:Coordination between organizations on strategic, tactical and operation levels leads to more effective and efficient supply chains. Supply chain management is increasing day by day in modern enterprises. The environment is becoming competitive and many enterprises will find it difficult to survive if they do not make their sourcing, production and distribution more efficient. Multi-agent supply chain management has recognized as an effective methodology for supply chain management. Multi-agent systems (MAS) offer new methods compared to conventional, centrally organized architectures in the scope of supply chain management (SCM). Since necessary data are not available within the whole supply chain, an integrated approach for production planning and control taking into account all the partners involved is not feasible. In this study we show how MAS architecture interacts in the integrated SCM architecture with the help of various intelligent agents to highlight the above problem.

Abstract:Based on the agent principles, a two leveled architecture of supply chain management(SCM) was established to integrate the different management systems of the enterprises on a supply chain and to implement the information interchange, the first level is comprised of three function agents which carry out the collaboration and coordination of suppliers, manufacturers and dealers on the supply chain, and the second level is comprised of four interface agents with which the production management module, inventory management module, procurement management module, sale and service management module of different management systems can be conveniently inserted into and removed from the supply chain. The web-based software platform was developed which can support the plug play of different management systems and the reconfiguration of the supply chain.

Abstract:In a worldwide network of suppliers, factories, warehouses, distribution centres and retailers, the supply chain plays a very important role in the acquisition, transformation, and delivery of raw materials and products. One of the most important characteristics of agile supply chain is the ability to reconfigure dynamically and quickly according to demand changes in the market. In this paper, concepts and characteristics of an agile supply chain are discussed and the agile supply chain is regarded as one of the pivotal technologies of agile manufacture based on dynamic alliance. Also, the importance of coordination in supply chain is emphasised and a general architecture of agile supply chain management is presented based on a multi-agent theory, in which the supply chain is managed by a set of intelligent agents for one or more activities. The supply chain management system functions are to coordinate its agents. Agent functionalities and responsibilities are defined respectively, and a contract net protocol joint with case-based reasoning for coordination and an algorithm for task allocation is presented.

Abstract:In order to adapt well to demand for frequent changes of enterprise business process and enhance the efficiency of software programming, in this paper, according to the features of business process in pharmaceutical enterprise, a MAS model of sale management system is proposed based on multi-agent technology. The paper illustrates the function of each agent and the cooperation between agents. The realization and the application case of this system is given.
