Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to analyze the existence and development of land reclamation at home and abroad, study the construction and development trend of land reclamation course, and provide reference for the development and improvement of the curriculum system for land reclamation. The methods of literature review, comparative analysis and induction are employed. The results indicate that 1)the theories, methods and techniques of land reclamation at home and abroad are further studied and the numbers of related literature and treatises are increasing, but the development of land reclamation science is imbalanced, which are mostly distributed in economically developed countries of Europe and America as well as a small number of developing countries. China and the United States are the core areas of land reclamation research. 2)The study objects of land reclamation are expanding constantly and the industrial and mining wasteland reclamation is still the main research area. The curriculum construction of land reclamation differs in curriculum type, curriculum nature and teaching forms through comparative analysis of well-known colleges and universities engaged in land reclamation research worldwide. In China, land reclamation course has become the core curriculum of land resources management, surveying and mapping engineering and environmental science, but the land reclamation practice is relatively insufficient. 3)Through analyzing the research hot-spot of land reclamation, the development of land reclamation curriculum shows a trend that the course field is gradually widening and the course system is gradually forming. It is concluded that aiming at the land reclamation course construction, land reclamation teaching practice should be further strengthened, the curriculum orientation of land reclamation should be well defined and the textbook system of land reclamation should be standardized.
