Abstract:This paper analyzes the reasons that the group of Chinese philologists have been formed in the 20th Century. Three factors for this are mentioned, which includes the discovery of new materials that provided these philologists with new condition and topics; book scattering in great quantities that urged them to collect, arrange and photocopy the rare books. And both the New Culture Movement and the May 4th Movement made the document arrangement and research as the main way for philologists to pass on the traditional Chinese civilization. Then the paper lists 40 late important philologists and analyzes the academic background of these philologists.

Abstract:Landscape ecology has achieved great progress since its introduction to China in early 1980s. Based on 619 collections of literatures and 14 collections of books, this paper has all the literatures and books classified, arranged in order and counted on different special subject. According to the results of classified statistics, the authors discuss and analyze how landscape ecology research was going in China during 1990s. Moreover, this paper can also provide scientific basis for those who want to grasp and keep abreast of current focus and trend of landscape ecology in China.

Abstract:Some progress has been achieved and some new results have been found in the latest decades in the following four aspects. First, the extension of the research areas, the studies are focusing on newly exploratory Chinese language corpus from abroad. Second, the extension of the research perspectives, the studies give importance to geographical factors and language contact. Third, the updates of the methodology, the new methods are based on style variants and the variable of common words in conceptual field. Fourth, the development of the theory, the studies pay close attentions to the linguistics typology and utilization of the symantics atlas.

Abstract:As one of the core research subjects in sociolinguistics,language variation is widely paid attention to in China.This paper makes a statistical analysis of the articles on language variation published in CSSCI over recent 20 years(1992-2011),suggesting that research on language variation in China has made considerable progress during this period.However,it is pointed out that there are still some problems with the research method,contents and depth.The paper reviews on the current research results,which is conducive to grasping the research development trend of language variation in China,thus providing reference for future research work.
