On the Progress of Modern Chinese Studies

Abstract:Some progress has been achieved and some new results have been found in the latest decades in the following four aspects. First, the extension of the research areas, the studies are focusing on newly exploratory Chinese language corpus from abroad. Second, the extension of the research perspectives, the studies give importance to geographical factors and language contact. Third, the updates of the methodology, the new methods are based on style variants and the variable of common words in conceptual field. Fourth, the development of the theory, the studies pay close attentions to the linguistics typology and utilization of the symantics atlas.
