Taiwan undergraduates' global literacy,participation in globalization and global campus environmental perception: an empirical research on current situation and relationship-Based on questionnaire in three research universities in Taiwan

Abstract:In the survey in National Taiwan University, National Chengchi University and National Taiwan Normal University, the results show that Taiwan undergraduates' global literacy, global campus environmental perception are high on the whole, and the participation in globalization is relatively low.On the aspect of global knowledge and global understanding, the scores of sophomore are obviously higher than senior.On the aspect of global skills, the undergraduates who come from directly controlled municipalities are obviously better than those come from some counties, the undergraduates go abroad frequently are obviously better than those go abroad less.On the aspect of global campus environmental reception, the undergraduates' who major in social science are obviously better than those majored in natural and applied subjects.Different genders of the students have no significant differences on global literacy and the participation in globalization,while the females' scores are obviously higher than males on the global campus environmental reception.Correlation analysis showed an significant positive correlation between global skills and participation in globalization, global campus environmental reception.Global skills are middling correlated with participation in globalization.Attitude towards globalization and participation in globalization shows no correlation.while it has an significant positive correlation with global campus environmental reception;Global knowledge and global understanding are not associated with global campus environmental reception,while it has an significant positive correlation with participation in globalization.
