Development of Nuclear Technology and Its Applications

Abstract:As viewed from applications the nuclear technology mainly includes the technology of ray and particle beams, and the technology of radioactive nuclides. The former mainly includes nuclear analytical technology, irradiation processing and ion beam processing, non\|destructive detection technology, industrial nuclear instruments, nuclear medical imaging and tumor radiotherapy. The latter includes radioactive nuclide tracing, radioactive nuclide dating and radioactive pharmaceuticals. The interactions between rays or particle beams and matters are the physical basis of nuclear technology. The technologies of particle accelerators and nuclear detection are the main supporting technology of nuclear technology. This article introduces the developments of above technological fields as well as the research work on nuclear technology and its applications at Peking University.
