Abstract:In order to study the effect of biodiesel on combustion and particulate matter of diesel engine, the performance test of engine was carried out on a four-cylinder common rail vehicle used diesel engine fueled with biodiesel blending. The effects of biodiesel on the combustion process of engine were analyzed by combustion analyzer. The characteristics of particulate matter was explored by thermogravimetric analyzer ( TGA ) and the effects of biodiesel on the SOF components of the particulate matter were studied by gas chromatography / mass spectrometry ( GC-MS) . Results show that by increasing biodiesel blending ratio, the maximum burst pressure increases, the cylinder pressure curve moves forward, the peak value of premixed combustion heat dissipation decreases, the peak corresponding to the crank angle moves ahead, and the corresponding crank angle of heat dissipation peak of B20 is 2. 8° CA earlier than B0 and the peak value decreases 19%. If the blending ratio of biodiesel increases, the mass fraction of H2O and soluble organic matter ( SOF) in the particulate matter increases, the mass fraction of soot and inorganic salts decreases, and the components of SOF in the particulate matter and the acid are increased, while alkanes, aromatics and phenols are correspondingly reduced. The number of carbon atoms in SOF is mainly between C12 and C24, the distribution of SOF carbon atoms in B20 emission particles is more concentrated, mainly between C15 and C22 .
