Abstract:Since redundant frames are play very important role in signal processing and image processing,existence and perturbation for multiple Gabor frames are studied in this paper.The sufficient condition for the existence of multiple Gabor frames is proposed.It is shown that a function which is the generator of Gabor frames is also a generator of Gabor frames after it is perturbed.According to the frame stability criterion,we prove that a class of irregular Gabor frames are stable frames as well.

Abstract:In this paper, we give some new results on sum and stability of g-frames in Hilbert spaces. Since the finite sum of g-frames may not be a g-frame for the Hilbert space, we give a necessary and sufficient condition and some sufficient conditions for the finite sum of g-frames to be a g-frame. We also show that every g-sequence in Hilbert space can be expanded to a tight g-frame by adding a linear bounded operator. Moreover, we obtain some sufficient conditions under which g-frames (and the finite sum of g-frames) are stable under small perturbations.

Abstract:Given a frame in a finite dimensional Hilbert space we construct additive perturbations which decrease the condition number of the frame. By iterating this perturbation, we introduce an algorithm that produces a tight frame in a finite number of steps. Additionally, we give sharp bounds on additive perturbations which preserve frames and we study the effect of appending and erasing vectors to a given tight frame. We also discuss under which conditions our finite-dimensional results are extendable to infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces.

Abstract:In the present paper, we examine the perturbation of continuous frames and Riesz-type frames in Hilbert C * -modules. We extend the Casazza–Christensen general perturbation theorem for Hilbert space frames to continuous frames in Hilbert C * -modules. We obtain a necessary condition under which the perturbation of a Riesz-type frame of Hilbert C * -modules remains to be a Riesz-type frame. Also, we examine the effect of duality on the perturbation of continuous frames in Hilbert C * -modules, and we prove that if the operator frame of a continuous frame F is near to the combination of the synthesis operator of a continuous Bessel mapping G and the analysis operator of F , then G is a continuous frame.

Abstract:Frame plays an important role in the theory of wavelet analysis. Frame theory and stability of frames are important topics of wavelet analysis. Recently, people pay more attention to multi-wavelet frames. Among literatures, Chui[2], for instance, give a complete characterization of multi-wavelet frames for arbitrary dilation factor a > 1. There, however, is relatively less results on the stability of multi-wavelet frames. This paper devotes to the study of stability of multi-wavelet frames based on functional analysis methods. The following meaningful results are obtained: firstly, multi-wavelet frames are stable by some kinds of linear operators action; Secondly, multi-wavelet frames are stable over some kinds of perturbations conditions on psi.

Abstract:This paper gives a perturbation theorem for frames in a Hilbert space which is a generalization of a result by Casazza and Christensen. Then this result is applied to the Perturbation of regular sampling in shift-invariant spaces. Irregular sampling theorems for frames in wavelet subspaces are established for which it is easy to derive explicit formulas and algorithms to calculate the ranges of the perturbations for frames. Furthermore, improved estimates for the Perturbations are derived for the Perturbations of regular sampling in shift-invariant spaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we present some new characterizations of g-frames for a bounded operator. We discuss the g-frame for an operator K which has closed range and give a necessary and sufficient conditions for a family of bounded operators to be a K -g-frame. We also give a characterization of the dual for a K -g-frame. Moreover, We use quotient operators to characterize K -g-frames and find that the results on K -g-frames can be proved by theory of quotient operators.

Abstract:We study Gabor frames with Hermite window functions. Gröchenig and Lyubarskii provided a sufficient density condition for their frame sets, which leads to what we call the ``safety region". For rectangular lattices and Hermite windows of order 4 and higher, we enlarge this safety region by providing new points on the boundary of this region. For this purpose, we employ the Janssen representation of the frame operator to compare its distance to the identity in the operator norm. The calculations lead to estimates on series involving Laguerre polynomials with Gaussian weight functions.

Abstract:Let $\{\frak{M} _k \} _{ k \in \mathbb{Z}} $ be a sequence of closed subspaces of Hilbert space $H$, and let $\{\Theta_k\}_{k \in \mathbb{Z}}$ be a sequence of linear operators from $H$ into $\frak{M}_k$, $k \in \mathbb{Z}$. In the definition of fusion frames, we replace the orthogonal projections on $\frak{M} _k$ by $\Theta_k$ and find a slight generalization of fusion frames. In the case where, $\Theta_k$ is self-adjoint and $\Theta_k(\frak{M} _k)= \frak{M} _k$ for all $k \in \mathbb{Z}$, we show that if a $g-$fusion frame $\{(\frak{M} _k, \Theta_k)\}_{k \in \mathbb{Z}}$ is represented via a linear operator $T$ on $\hbox{span} \{\frak{M} _k\}_{ k \in \mathbb{Z}}$, then $T$ is bounded; moreover, if $\{(\frak{M} _k, \Theta_k)\}_{k \in \mathbb{Z}}$ is a tight $g-$fusion frame, then $T$ is not invertible. We also study the perturbation and the stability of these fusion frames. Finally, we give some examples to show the validity of the results.

Abstract:We introduce an equivalence relation on the set of lattices in $\mathbb{R}^{2d}$ such that equivalent lattices support identical structures of Gabor systems, up to unitary equivalence, a notion we define. These equivalence classes are parameterized by symplectic forms on $\mathbb{R}^{2d}$ and they consist of lattices related by symplectic transformations. This implies that $2d^2 - d$ parameters suffice to describe the possible structures of Gabor systems over lattices in $\mathbb{R}^{2d}$, as opposed to the $4d^2$ degrees of freedom in the choice of lattice. We also prove that (modulo a minor complication related to complex conjugation) symplectic transformations are the only linear transformations of the time-frequency plane which implement equivalences of this kind, thereby characterizing symplectic transformations as the structure-preserving transformations of the time-frequency plane in the context of Gabor analysis. In addition, we investigate the equivalence classes that have separable lattices as representatives and find that the parameter space in this case is $d^2$-dimensional. We provide an explicit example showing that non-separable lattices with irrational lattice points can behave exactly like separable and rational ones. This approach also allows us to formulate and prove a higher-dimensional variant of the Lyubarskii-Seip-Wallstén Theorem for Gaussian Gabor frames. This gives us, for a large class of lattices in $\mathbb{R}^{2d}$ (including all symplectic ones), necessary and sufficient conditions for $d$-parameter families of Gaussians to generate Gabor frames.

Abstract:We discuss the concepts of pseudo-dual frames and approximately dual frames, and illuminate their relationship to classical frames. Approximately dual frames are easier to construct than the classical dual frames, and might be tailored to yield almost perfect reconstruction. For approximately dual frames constructed via perturbation theory, we provide a bound on the deviation from perfect reconstruction. An alternative bound is derived for the rich class of Gabor frames, by using the Walnut representation of the frame operator to estimate the deviation from equality in the duality conditions. As illustration of the results, we construct explicit approximate duals of Gabor frames generated by the Gaussian; these approximate duals yield almost perfect reconstruction. Amazingly, the method applies also to certain Gabor frames that are far from being tight.

Abstract:Weak R-duals, a generalization of R-duals, were recently introduced; for which duality relations were established. In this paper, we consider the problem of characterizing a given frame sequence to be a weak R-dual of a given frame. Further, we apply these characterization results to the Gabor frame setting and prove that the weak R-duality of the adjoint Gabor system leads to the R-duality of the same, thereby indicating an approach to answer the famous problem of the adjoint Gabor system being an R-dual of a given Gabor frame.

Abstract:This paper addresses the Hilbert–Schmidt frame (HS-frame) theory. We introduce the concept of generalized dual HS-frame (g-dual HS-frame) which generalizes that of g-dual frame. We prove that two equivalent HS-frames form a g-dual HS-frame pair, characterize operators on that transform a pair of HS-Riesz bases into a g-dual HS-frame pair, and present a parametric expression of all g-dual HS-frames of an arbitrarily given HS-frame. Also the perturbation-stability and topological properties of g-dual HS-frames are investigated. Finally, applying our results, we not only recover some known results but also derive some new results in the classical Hilbert space frame setting.

Abstract:Duality principles in Gabor theory such as the Ron–Shen duality principle and theWexler–Raz biorthogonality relations play a fundamental role for analyzing Gabor systems. In thisarticle we present a general approach to derive duality principles in abstract frame theory. Foreach sequence in a separable Hilbert space we define a corresponding sequence dependent onlyon two orthonormal bases. Then we characterize exactly properties of the first sequence in termsof the associated one, which yields duality relations for the abstract frame setting. Abstract:We build on our recent results on the Lipschitz dependence of the extreme spectral values of one-parameter families of pseudodifferential operators with symbols in a weighted Sjöstrand class. We prove that larger symbol classes lead to Hölder continuity with respect to the parameter. This result is then used to investigate the behavior of frame bounds of families of Gabor systems $\mathcal{G}(g,\alpha\Lambda)$ with respect to the parameter $\alpha>0$, where $\Lambda$ is a set of non-uniform, relatively separated time-frequency shifts, and $g\in M^1_s(\mathbb{R}^d)$, $0\leq s\leq 2$. In particular, we show that the frame bounds depend continuously on $\alpha$ if $g\in M^1(\mathbb{R}^d)$, and are Hölder continuous if $g\in M^1_s(\mathbb{R}^d)$, $0<s\leq 2$, with the Hölder exponent explicitly given.

On the non-frame property of Gabor systems with Hermite generators and the frame set conjecture

Abstract:The frame set conjecture for Hermite functions formulated in [Gröchenig, J. Fourier Anal. Appl., 20(4):865-895, 2014] states that the Gabor frame set for these generators is the largest possible, that is, the time-frequency shifts of the Hermite functions associated with sampling rates $\alpha$ and modulation rates $\beta$ that avoid all known obstructions lead to Gabor frames for $L^{2}(\mathbb{R})$. By results in [Seip and Wallstén, J. Reine Angew. Math., 429:107-113, 1992] and [Lemvig, Monatsh. Math., 182(4):899-912, 2017], it is known that the conjecture is true for the Gaussian, the $0$th order Hermite functions, and false for Hermite functions of order $2,3,6,7,10,11,\dots$, respectively. In this paper we disprove the remaining cases except for the $1$st order Hermite function.
