Abstract:In this paper, we first establish a rational iteration method which can be used as a root-finding algorithm for almost every polynomial. It has no nonrepelling extraneous fixed point in the complex plane and is generally convergent for both quadratic and cubic polynomials. Then some properties of this algorithm are given. By the aid of computer, we produce pictures of the Julia sets for the iterations of some polynomials. Numerical results show that it is a root-finding method with convergence order the same as Halley's method.

Abstract:For finding a root of a function f, Halley's iteration family is a higher generalization of Newton's iteration function. In every step, it uses the values of f and its first number of derivatives, called standard information. Based on the standard information, we obtain an iteration method with maximal order of convergence. It is a natural generalization of Halley's iteration family in terms of divided differences. An explicit construction for this method is also obtained. Numerical experiments are given demonstrating the importance of the proposed approach.

Abstract:For finding a root of a function f , Müler’s method is a root-finding algorithm using three values of f in every step. The natural values available are values of f and values of its first number of derivatives, called standard information. Based on standard information, we construct an iteration method with maximal order of convergence. It is a natural generalization of Müller’s iteration method.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish results fully addressing two open problems proposed recently by I. Ivanov, see Nonlinear Analysis 69 (2008) 4012-4024, with respect to the convergence of the accelerated Riccati iteration method for solving the continuous coupled algebraic Riccati equation, or CCARE for short. These results confirm several desirable features of that method, including the monotonicity and boundedness of the sequences it produces, its capability of determining whether the CCARE has a solution, the extremal solutions it computes under certain circumstances, and its faster convergence than the regular Riccati iteration method.

Abstract:A family of new iteration methods without employing derivatives is proposed in this paper. We have proved that these new methods are quadratic convergence. Their efficiency is demonstrated by numerical experiments. The numerical experiments show that our algorithms are comparable to well-known methods of Newton and Steffensen. Furthermore, combining the new method with bisection method we construct another new high-order iteration method with nice asymptotic convergence properties of the diameters (bn − an).

Abstract:In this paper, we propose the idea for combining several iteration functions in order to construct new families of iterative methods with both high-order of convergence and high computational efficiency. As an illustration, combining the most famous iteration functions with two or three arbitrary iteration functions, we obtain three new families of high-order iterative methods for the simultaneous computation of simple or multiple polynomial zeros. To demonstrate the influence of the different corrections and to show how one can manage the convergence order and the efficiency when constructing particular methods, we prove a local convergence theorem with a priori and a posteriori error estimates and an estimate of the asymptotic error constant about one of the proposed general families called Schröder-like methods with two corrections .

Abstract:Convergence of Newton-like iteration for the non-differentiable operator is considered. Dividing the non-differentiable operator F into two parts:the differentiable part H and the non-differentiable part G,making use of the modified iteration formula used by Hernndez,the convergence of the iteration is analyzed. Compared with the result of Hernndez's,the theorem needs milder condition and draw the better conclusion for error estimate.

Abstract:We presented a family of iteration methods for solving the approximate solutions of the nonlinear equations f(x)=0.We proved the iteration methods have third-order convergence,and the methods have the advantage of avoiding the computation of the second Frechet derivative.We performed different numerical tests that confirm the theoretical results.Our methods can compete with Newton's method and some classical third-order methods.

Abstract:A family of eighth-order iterative methods with four evaluations for the solution of nonlinear equations is presented. Kung and Traub conjectured that an iteration method without memory based on n evaluations could achieve optimal convergence order 2n-1. The new family of eighth-order methods agrees with the conjecture of Kung–Traub for the case n=4. Therefore this family of methods has efficiency index equal to 1.682. Numerical comparisons are made with several other existing methods to show the performance of the presented methods.

Abstract:Using implicit Runge-Kutta method to solve differential equations requires that the numerical scheme have high accuracy and high stability. But, the iterative scheme needed for solving the implicit RK equations requires a lot of computational effort. One option is the application of the iteration scheme concurrently at a number of step points on the t-axis. It is necessary to analyze the convergence of a special class of such step- parallel iteration methods for delay differential equations (DDEs).

Abstract:A family of eighth-order iterative methods for the solution of nonlinear equations is presented. The new family of eighth-order methods is based on King's fourth-order methods and the family of sixth-order iteration methods developed by Chun et al. Per iteration the new methods require three evaluations Of the function and one evaluation of its first derivative. Therefore this family of methods has the efficiency index which equals 1.682. Kung and Traub conjectured that a multipoint iteration without memory based on n evaluations could achieve optimal convergence order 2(n) (1). Abstract:In this paper, we have constructed a family of three-step methods with sixth-order convergence and a novel approach to enhance the convergence order $ p $ of iterative methods for systems of nonlinear equations. Additionally, we propose a three-step scheme with convergence order $ p+3 $ (for $ p\geq3 $) and have extended it to a generalized $ (m+2) $-step scheme by merely incorporating one additional function evaluation, thus achieving convergence orders up to $ p+3m $, $ m\in\mathbb{N} $. We also provide a thorough local convergence analysis in Banach spaces, including the convergence radius and uniqueness results, under the assumption of a Lipschitz-continuous Fréchet derivative. Theoretical findings have been validated through numerical experiments. Lastly, the performance of these methods is showcased through the analysis of their basins of attraction and their application to systems of nonlinear equations.

Abstract:For solving nonlinear index-2 differential-algebraic systems, the iterative processes of waveform relaxation based on the continuous extension Runge-Kutta methods are investigated. The theoretical models are very general and even allow include different interpolation formulae along the mesh. This method is suitable to decouple the complex, singular systems of instantaneous state. For a windowing method one of the accelerating techniques, the convergence theory of the more complicated iterative processes is concluded.

Abstract:Solving fractional-order nonlinear equations is crucial in engineering, where precision and accuracy are essential. This study introduces a novel fractional parallel technique for solving nonlinear equations. To enhance convergence, we incorporate a simple root-finding method of order 3γ + 1 as a correction term in the parallel scheme. Theoretical analysis shows that the parallel scheme achieves a convergence order of 6γ + 3. Using a dynamical system approach, we identify optimal parameter values, and the symmetry in the dynamical planes for different fractional parameters demonstrates the method's stability and consistency in handling nonlinear problems. These parameter values are applied to the parallel scheme, yielding highly consistent results. Several engineering problems are examined to assess the method's efficiency, stability, and consistency compared to existing methods.
