The method converges to solution of AVE after finite iterations. Finally, this method is applied to solve two-point boundary value problem. An extension of the WDVV equations, called the open WDVV equations, was introduced by A.Horev and J.P.Solomon (<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1210.4034" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1210.4034">arXiv:1210.4034</a>). Abstract:A generalization of the Newton-based matrix splitting iteration method (GNMS) for solving the generalized absolute value equations (GAVEs) is proposed. Under mild conditions, the GNMS method converges to the unique solution of the GAVEs. Moreover, we can obtain a few weaker convergence conditions for some existing methods. Numerical results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a modified Barzilai-Borwein algorithm for solving the generalized absolute value equation Ax+B|x|=b . We discuss the global convergence of the proposed algorithm under the proper conditions. Finally, numerical results demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed algorithm and overmatch some existing algorithms, such as the SOR-like algorithm, the GN algorithm and the sign accord algorithm.

Abstract:In this paper, a new strategy is put forward for solving the NP-hard absolute value equation (AVE) Ax—|x|=b which has 2n solutions. Via maths classified discussion, we can translate the AVE into 2n general linear equations, and solve each of these. Numerical results show that the strategy can be easy to get 2n solutions of the absolute value equation.

Abstract:Starting from the structure of the BGR under weight conservation of A(n), YBRs are solved without the assumption that the upper-left triangle of each sub-block of the S-matrix vanishes. Abstract:Based on the Backus-Gilbert inverse theory, the singular value decomposition (SVD) for general inverse matrices and the optimization algorithm are used to solve the channel friction inverse problem. The resolution and covariance friction inverse model in matrix form is developed to examine the reliability of solutions. Theoretical analyses demonstrate that the convergence rate of the general Newton optimization algorithm is in the second-order. The Wiggins method is also incorporated into the algorithm. Using the method, noise can be suppressed effectively, and the results are close to accurate solutions with proper control parameters. Also, the numerical stability can be improved.
Sufficient conditions for the unique solvability of absolute value matrix equations

Abstract:In this paper, we discussed the unique solvability of the two absolute value matrix equations. The unique solvability condition $\rho (\vert A^{-1} B \vert)<1$ is provided for the generalized absolute value matrix equation (GAVME) $AX + B \vert X \vert = F$. This condition is superior to that of Kumar et al. [J. Numer. Anal. Approx. Theory, 51(1) (2022) 83-87]. We also discussed different conditions for the unique solvability of the new generalized absolute value matrix equation (NGAVME) $AX+B\vert CX \vert=F$ with $A, B, C, F, X \in \mathcal{R}^{n \times n}$. We also provided the corrected version of Corollary 2.1 from the published work by Wang et al. [Appl. Math. Lett., 116 (2021) 106966].

Abstract:In this paper, our intention is to investigate the blow-up theory for generalized auto-convolution Volterra integral equations (AVIEs). To accomplish this, we will consider certain conditions on the main equation. This will establish a framework for our analysis, ensuring that the solution of the equation exists uniquely and is positive. Firstly, we analyze the existence and uniqueness of a local solution for a more general class of AVIEs (including the proposed equation in this paper) under certain hypotheses. Subsequently, we demonstrate the conditions under which this local solution blows up at a finite time. In other words, the solution becomes unbounded at that time. Furthermore, we establish that this blow-up solution can be extended to an arbitrary interval on the non-negative real line, thus referred to as a global solution. These results are also discussed for a special case of generalized AVIEs in which the kernel functions are taken as positive constants.

Abstract:In this paper, we present a two‐step Newton‐based matrix‐splitting iteration method for solving the generalize absolute value equation. This method can produce a number of two‐step Newton‐based relaxation iteration algorithms with the right matrix‐splitting options. In particular, some specific sufficient conditions are presented, when A is an H + ‐matrix. Finally, numerical results indicate that the two‐step Newton‐based relaxation iteration techniques are effective for solving the generalized absolute value equation.

Abstract:To our knowledge, the error and perturbation bounds of the general absolute value equations are not discussed. In order to fill in this study gap, in this paper, by introducing a class of absolute value functions, we study the error and perturbation bounds of two types of the general absolute value equations (AVEs): $Ax-B|x|=b$ and $Ax-|Bx|=b$. Some useful error bounds and perturbation bounds of the above two types of absolute value equations are provided. Without limiting the matrix type, some computable estimates for the above upper bounds are given. By applying the absolute value equations, a new approach for some existing perturbation bounds of the linear complementarity problem (LCP) in (SIAM J. Optim., 18 (2007), pp. 1250-1265) is provided. Some numerical examples for the AVEs from the LCP are given to show the feasibility of the perturbation bounds.

Abstract:By incorporating a new matrix splitting and the momentum acceleration into the relaxed-based matrix splitting (RMS) method \cite{soso2023}, a generalization of the RMS (GRMS) iterative method for solving the generalized absolute value equations (GAVEs) is proposed. Unlike some existing methods, by using the Cauchy's convergence principle, we give some sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of the solution to the GAVEs and prove that our method can converge to the unique solution of the GAVEs. Moreover, we can obtain a few new and weaker convergence conditions for some existing methods. Preliminary numerical experiments show that the proposed method is efficient.

Abstract:This paper describes algebraic equation set of constructing orthogonal and biorthogonal wavelet under vanishing moment constraint, and proposes a method to solve them. The algebraic equation set consists of two parts: linear equation system and non-linear equation system. This paper first investigates how to solve the linear equation system, then, uses the computational results to simplify the non-linear equation system. The non-linear equation system is equivalent to a non-linear two degree polynomial equation set with smaller scale. Algorithm implementations are discussed and problems to be solved further are pointed out.

Abstract:The fixed point iteration (FPI) method proposed by Ke [Appl Math Lett. 2020;99:105990] for solving the absolute value equations (AVE) with the form <math> A x − | x | = b </math> is interesting for its simplicity and efficiency. However, its convergence is only guaranteed for the case that <math> 0 < ∥ A − 1 ∥ < 2 2 </math>, excluding the possible case that <math> 2 2 ≤ ∥ A − 1 ∥ < 1 </math>. To complete the gap, we develop a modified FPI (MFPI) method for solving the AVE with <math> 0 < ∥ A − 1 ∥ < 1 </math>, which, besides keeping the simplicity of FPI, improves its efficiency by judiciously choosing the involving parameter. Under mild conditions, we prove its linear convergence. We present some preliminary numerical results for <math> 0 < ∥ A − 1 ∥ < 1 </math>, demonstrating its convergence; and compare it with FPI when <math> 0 < ∥ A − 1 ∥ < 2 2 </math>, illustrating its superiority.
