Abstract:In this paper, we study the positive solutions of the periodic-parabolic logistic equation with indefinite weight function and nonhomogeneous diffusion coefficient. By employing sufficient conditions to guarantee negative principal eigenvalue, we obtain the existence, uniqueness, and stability of the positive periodic solutions. Moreover, we prove that the positive periodic solution tends to the unique positive solution of the corresponding non-autonomous logistic equation when the diffusion rate is large.

Abstract:In this paper, a nonperiodic discrete nonlinear equation with Jacobi operators is considered. By using the critical point theory, we establish some new sufficient conditions on the existence and multiplicity of homoclinic solutions. Recent results are generalized and significantly improved. Abstract:A numerical method is described for digital simulation of rate-zonal centrifugation of particles with known sedimentation and diffusion coefficients in sucrose gradients at given temperatures. A model rotor based on the geometry of a B-XIV titanium zonal rotor is used. The rotor chamber is divided into 207 annular segments by 206 equidistant cylindrical planes. Initially 207 paired values describing the concentration radius profiles of sample and gradient material together with some physical constants are provided as input data. The net fluxes of material across each plane during a short period of time are calculated. The concentrations in each segment are adjusted accordingly, yielding new concentration radius profiles. New values of density and viscosity in each segment are calculated before the next transfer of materials is allowed to take place. The iterations are continued until a predetermined cumulative run time is reached. The advantages and the drawbacks of this approach are discussed. Comparison with an actual experiment revealed that the simulation method can be used to predict final particle distribution with rather good accuracy. Moreover, the hydrodynamic stability of sample particles can be evaluated at each time point and at each distance during a centrifugation. Hence, this numerical approach can be used to optimize experimental conditions in all types of zonal centrifugation.

Our results generalize some known results. Moreover, numerical stimulations are presented to illustrate applications of our major findings.

Abstract:An investigation is made of the effects of delayed feedbacks on periodic solutions of Lienard system qualitatively by introducing delayed state feedbacks into the normal form of Lienard system.There coexist multiple solutions derived from the delayed feedbacks.This paper presents an analytical prediction of the number and the stability of periodic solutions with the feedback-gain and the delay varying.The analytical results are in agreement with the numerical ones from the 4th-order Runge-Kutta approach,which validates the analytical results.And the attraction basins of different periodic solutions are also classified by the Runge-Kutta approach.The research result has a prospective applicability to the stabilization of controlled systems and synchronization with other systems.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the almost periodic solution for a neutral multi-species Logarithmic population model. By employing Banach’s fixed point theorem and using differential inequality technique, we present some sufficient conditions ensuring the existence, uniqueness and globally exponential stability of almost periodic solution for the model. Abstract:Combining the spectral radius of matrix with the generalized Banach fixed point theory and some properties of exponential contraction, we prove periodic solution and almost periodic solution of a neutral delay multispecies logarithmic population model with piecewise constant argument is existent and unique in appropriate conditions. The results have generalized and improved some results of literature on logarithmic population model. Finally, one example is given to illustrate our results.

Abstract:In this article we study the existence of positive periodic solutions for two types of second-order nonlinear neutral differential equation with infinite distributed delay. The main tool employed here is the Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem dealing with a sum of two mappings, one is a contraction and the other is completely continuous. The results obtained here generalize the work of Han and Ren (Nonlinear Anal, 70:1393–1406, 2009).
