Abstract:In the modem society, market competitions for IT projects become more and more fiercely. Therefore, information technique becomes more and more important to enterprises. Thus, the, research on excellent IT projects success criterion is very useful and many scholars do researches about it. This paper tries to give a model for the evaluation indexes of IT projects success criterion. It does some researches and discusses the different views of the evaluation indexes of projects success criterion and then gives a success criterion evaluation model for IT projects. After the questionnaire research, reliability and validity analysis, descriptive analysis, and variance analysis of the sample data, the model is revised to a better one. And in the end of the paper the author draws some conclusions.

Abstract:Based on an extensive literature survey combined with the results of a field research in Xi'an Hi-Tech industries development zone, success criteria and factors for component-based information system development are discussed and a theoretical analysis framework is presented based on qualitative data analysis. Within the framework, success criteria are suggested as six dimensions-time, cost, user requirements, quality levels,reuse assets,and learning effects. Thirty-five success factors are grouped with six major categories-organizational, project-level, technical, human, engineering, and COTS specific factors. The further analysis for each factor is done and a list of success factors is drawn up.

Abstract:Through reviewing the relevant literature and case investigation,we summarize the components of the information technology capability.And specifically,we use the empirical study to verify that information technology capability is comprised of four dimensions, IT architecture and routine,IT infrastructure,human IT resource and IT relationship assets.Moreover,we design the index system of information technology capability.On the basis of a large-scale questionnaire investigation,this paper finally examines the IT capabil- ity's contribution to performance based on 145 valid samples.The findings indicate that,IT capability is positively associated with firm' s performance.Among the IT capability' s contribution to performance ;the effects of different capabilities are different.

Abstract:Information technologies and information systems play an increasingly important role in gaining and sustaining competitive edge for enterprises. A large quantity of Chinese enterprises endeavored to establish or upgrade their information systems. However, the failure rate of such projects remains high in China. There have been a large number of analyses of critical factors of information system projects in the literature, and this paper attempts to categorize the critical failure factors mentioned in the literature and to do a questionnaire survey accordingly. The survey is conducted in Zhejiang Province of China, to understand which failure factors are perceived as the most influential by the respondents.

Abstract:This paper describes the most recent researches on project success criteria and project critical success factors. The study analyzes the shortage of applications of these researches in Chinese IT projects, and then generally considers the Chinese concrete environment, the features of IT projects and the future trends. Finally, the author proposes a tool to evaluate the success of Chinese IT projects: CITPEVS, by making amendments to PEVS, to help the Chinese IT project managers to evaluate whether their projects are on the right track and will succeed.

Abstract:Purpose Evaluating project success within the construction industry presents challenges due to the unique characteristics of the sector, the complexity of projects, and the involvement of diverse stakeholders. Conducting a bibliometric analysis, this paper aims to unravel the major research themes and methodologies utilised by researchers in studying the critical success criteria for construction projects, as well as extracting these success criteria. Design/methodology/approach The researchers systematically searched and screened 95 papers from Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases. This study conducted research focus parallelship network (RFPN) analysis and keywords co-occurrence network (KCON) analysis using BibExcel and Gephi to cluster the papers, illuminate the relationships among keywords within each cluster, and identify the primary research directions. Findings Using the RFPN analysis, this study classified the papers into three distinct clusters: infrastructure and public projects success, risk and knowledge management, and contractors and procurement management. Statistical techniques such as structural equation modelling (SEM) and multi-criteria decision-making methods such as analytic hierarchy process (AHP) have been used to analyse project success in the construction industry. Research limitations/implications Considering the intensified demand for streamlined digital interactions and the increasing emphasis on sustainability and safety performance, construction companies are recommended to allocate greater investments toward the automation and digitisation of their products and processes. Prioritising modular construction and embracing transformative technologies alongside data science is crucial for enabling well-informed decision-making, and enhancing project success. Originality/value This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge by conducting a quantitative and systematic evaluation of the literature on project success criteria in the construction industry and uncovering key research areas. It addresses the pressing need to understand the complexities of construction projects amidst evolving industry dynamics and emerging disruptions. Moreover, by highlighting the implications of digital innovations and modular construction, this study urges deeper exploration into their impact on project performance and stakeholder satisfaction. This research sets a comprehensive framework for investigating the interplay between project complexity, technological advancements, and sustainable practices in the construction sector, paving the way for strategic advancements in the field.

Abstract:Scientific identification of the factors that underpin the success of construction program can effectively promote the success of construction program. Based on literature statistics, this paper developed the measurement items of key success factors of construction program in Chinese context. Based on exploratory factor analysis, seven key success factors of construction program were extracted. Then, the excellence model of construction program was constructed by referring to the ideas, concepts, and theoretical mechanisms of EFQM model. The research conclusions of this paper provide a systematic and holistic guidance for the successful implementation of the program by the construction program organization and promote the success of the program.

Abstract:As organizations’ investments on information systems/information technology (IS/IT) increase, the assessment methods used during IS/IT investment decision-making process holds more and more importance. Since successful IS/IT projects are key to the sustainability of an organization, identifying the factors which have effects on project success carries useful insights. In this study, 18 assessment methods are identified based on the literature. A novel classification method is proposed and assessment methods are classified into financial, strategic, and organizational categories. A novel rule-based method for determining the size of IS/IT projects is also proposed. Detailed information on project characteristics, employed IS/IT assessment methods, and project success is collected for 110 real-world IS/IT projects. The collected data is utilized in ANOVA and Regression tests to examine the factors which affect project success. Use of organization-related assessment methods, which is proposed in this study, is found to increase the success rate of the projects. Obligation towards the project and use of multi-criteria methodology have significant relationships with project success whereas project size, use of gut feeling during evaluation, and employed system developmentmethodology do not have statistically significant impacts on project success.

It has introduced also authoritative quality evaluation models at home and abroad according to time sequence, and appraised the insufficiency of them. In order to further propose the effective evaluation criterion for software quality, which aim at the actual situation of domestic software profession, this paper has refined the corresponding factors which influence the quality criterion evaluation through data statistics and expert interview based on criterions which already have, discussed the mutual relations among these factors, proposed the corresponding model, and given the explanations to the basic suppositions of this paper using empirical research.
The Development and Empirical Analysis on a Two-stage Risk Based Performance Model of Customized Information Systems Development Projects

Abstract:With information technology playing an increasing role in economy, companies have grown more heavily dependent on the successful delivery of information systems (IS). However, the failure rate of IS development projects is high. Advocates of software risk management claim that a key question to reduce the chance of failure of a project is how to deal with the uncertainties of software development. This paper develops a two-stage risk based performance model of IS development projects to study the relationship between project inherent uncertainty, management practices and different dimensions of project performance. Two-stage risk refers to performance risk in development stage and performance risk in implementation stage, which respectively denotes the difficulties of estimating project outcomes during the different stages. Four objective uncertainty factors such as relative project size, technology complexity, development team skill, and client/user experience constitute project inherent uncertainty.In this paper, two dimensions of project performance: process performance and product performance are considered. Based on the dataset collected from 181 customized IS development projects of software houses in Hangzhou City, this paper carries out an empirical analysis on the research model with LISREL 8.7, a structural equations modeling package. The results reveal that performance risk in the development stage and performance risk in the implementation stage are two important intervening variables, which mediate the effects of project inherent uncertainty and management practices on both process and product performance. While project inherent uncertainty increases performance risk in different stages, management practices such as project planning and control, internal integration, user participation and top management support reduce such risk, as suggested by the risk-based approaches. Moreover, the research finds that project planning and control and internal integration have a direct positive impact on process performance, and internal integration, user participation have a direct positive impact on product performance. Further, top management support has a strong positive effect on use participation. In addition, the key factors which influence performance risk are found to be different in different project stages. For performance risk in development phase, key influential factors are project planning and control, internal integration and user participation. For performance risk in implementation phase, key influential factors are user participation and top management support. However, we have not found evidence for significant positive influence of user participation on process performance. The lack of support for a significant effect of process performance on product performance indicates that projects which come in within time and cost budgets may deliver poor systems. The implications of these findings are discussed along with directions for future research.

Abstract:Based on a lot of searching and in-depth analysis of relative Partnering literature,this paper refines 15 critical success factors for Partnering,and then builds a model and a questionnaire with the 15 factors.153 valid data are gathered by the questionnaire,through analysis of the 153 data,the fifteen critical success factors are validated,and the four-dimension assumed model is corrected by using R-factor clustering analysis.At last,this paper points out the corresponding management strategies and recommendations about Partnering by using the modified model.

Abstract:Project success is a difficult concept because of the project’s complexity and dynamic. It is discussed a long time by many researchers. Until now, there is no accepted universal definition of project success, but no one can disclaim the importance of evaluating project success, especially in construction. Project success is a foundation to manage and control the current project, plan and orient the future project. In this paper, a practical list of criteria for evaluating project success is discussed. The final proposed framework is the result of both academic and practical point of view, from the solid foundation of literature review to the actual completed project information and document collected. The final indexes and sub-indexes in this list had to satisfy three criteria, which are high capacity to collect information, high level of importance, and high degree of applicability to evaluate project success. To achieve this objective, two surveys were performed. The first survey collected information from twenty-eight completed projects to consider the capacity to collect necessary information to evaluate project success. The second survey gathered opinions from sixty-five respondents about the importance level and applicability level of each index and sub-index. From analysis results, seven sub-indexes were eliminated from the list. The final list of criteria included eleven indexes which were clearly described by forty six sub-indexes.
