Abstract:Singularity problem exists in various branches of applied mathematics. Such ordinary differential equations accompany singular coefficients. In this paper, by using the properties of reproducing kernel, the exact solution expressions of dual singular problem are given in the reproducing kernel space and studied, also for a class of singular problem. For the binary equation of singular points, I put it into the singular problem first, and then reuse some excellent properties which are applied to solve the method of solving differential equations for its exact solution expression of binary singular integral equation in reproducing kernel space, and then obtain its approximate solution through the evaluation of exact solutions. Numerical examples will show the effectiveness of this method.

Abstract:For any non-degenerate, quasi-homogeneous hypersurface singularity, we describe a family of moduli spaces, a virtual cycle, and a corresponding cohomological field theory associated to the singularity. This theory is analogous to Gromov-Witten theory and generalizes the theory of r-spin curves, which corresponds to the simple singularity A_r-1. We also resolve two outstanding conjectures of Witten. The first conjecture is that ADE-singularities are self-dual; and the second conjecture is that the total potential functions of ADE-singularities satisfy corresponding ADE-integrable hierarchies. Other cases of integrable hierarchies are also discussed.

Abstract:It has been shown recently that there is a new type of codimension one bifurcation, called the singularity-induced bifurcation (SIB) arising in parameter dependent differential-algebraic equations (DAEs) of the form (x) over dot = f and 0 = g, and which occurs generically when an equilibrium path of the DAE crosses the singular surface defined by g = 0 and det g(y) = 0. The SIB refers to a stability change of the DAE owing to some eigenvalue of a related linearization diverging to infinity when the jacobian g(y) is singular. In this article an improved version (Theorem 1.1) of the SIB theorem with its simple proof is given, based on a decomposition theorem (Theorem 2.1) of parameter dependent polynomials.

Abstract:This paper deals with a class of singular boundary value problems of differential equations on infinite time scale. An existence theorem of positive solutions is established by using the Schauder fixed point theorem and perturbation and operator approximation method, which resolves the singularity successfully and differs from those of some papers. Abstract:We investigate the existence of local holomorphic solutions $Y$ of linear partial differential equations in three complex variables whose coefficients are singular along an analytic variety $\Theta$ in $\mathbb{C}^{2}$. The coefficients are written as linear combinations of powers of a solution $X$ of some first order nonlinear partial differential equation following an idea we have initiated in a previous work \cite{mast}. The solutions $Y$ are shown to develop singularities along $\Theta$ with estimates of exponential type depending on the growth's rate of $X$ near the singular variety. We construct these solutions with the help of series of functions with infinitely many variables which involve derivatives of all orders of $X$ in one variable. Convergence and bounds estimates of these series are studied using a majorant series method which leads to an auxiliary functional equation that contains differential operators in infinitely many variables. Using a fixed point argument, we show that these functional equations actually have solutions in some Banach spaces of formal power series.

Abstract:We study a boundary value elliptic problem having a lower order nonlinear term with subquadratic growth in the gradient of the solution and possibly singular when the solution vanishes. If the singularity is mild enough (and even in the absence of the singularity), we prove an existence and multiplicity result. On the contrary, we prove an existence and uniqueness result for strong singularities.

Abstract:In this paper, a novel method is presented for solving a class of second order nonlinear differential equations with finitely many singularities in the reproducing kernel space W23[a,b]. The exact solution u(x) is represented in the form of series. In the mean time, the n term approximate solution un(x) of u(x) is proved to converge to the exact solution in the sense of norm, the error of the numerical solution is monotonically decreasing with the increase of n. Numerical examples demonstrate the accuracy of the present method. Numerical results verify that the proposed method is effective and simple for this kind of problems.

Abstract:We present a numerical study of a derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a general power nonlinearity, $|\psi|^{2\sigma}\psi_x$. In the $L^2$-supercritical regime, $\sigma>1$, our simulations indicate that there is a finite time singularity. We obtain a precise description of the local structure of the solution in terms of blowup rate and asymptotic profile, in a form similar to that of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with supercritical power law nonlinearity.

Abstract:In this article, we are concerned about the existence, uniqueness, and nonexistence of the positive solution for: where N ⩾ 3 , 0 < q < 1 , λ > 0 , p > 1 , μ > 0 is a parameter and the function h ( x ) satisfies certain conditions. To start with, based on the variational argument and perturbation method, we obtain the existence and uniqueness of the positive solution for the aforementioned singular elliptic differential equation as λ > N 2 . In addition, there is no solution as λ ⩽ N 2 . Later, from an experimental point of view, we give the numerical solution of the aforementioned singular elliptic differential equation by means of a neural network in some special cases, which enrich the theoretical results. Our conclusions partially extend the results corresponding to the nonsingular case.

Different from the nonsingular case, the result in this paper shows that both of the periodic and the antiperiodic eigenvalues play the same role in such an existence result. Abstract:We study qualitative properties of positive singular solutions to a two-coupled elliptic system with critical exponents. This system is related to coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations with critical exponents for nonlinear optics and Bose-Einstein condensates. We prove a sharp result on the removability of the same isolated singularity for both two components of the solutions. We also prove the nonexistence of positive solutions with one component bounded near the singularity and the other component unbounded near the singularity. These results will be applied in a subsequent work where the same system in a punctured ball will be studied.

Abstract:A second-order difference equation with periodic boundary value conditions is studied in this article, the nonlinear term may be singular. A few conditions are given to guarantee the existence of positive periodic solution by fixed-point theorem in cones. Our results can be applied to both superlinearity and semilinearity in the case that the difference equation has no singularity, and can be applied to both strong singularity and weak singularity in the case that the difference equation has a repulsive singularity.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate singularity formation for the high-order generalized Fokas–Olver–Rosenau–Qiao equation which include the celebrated Fokas–Olver–Rosenau–Qiao equation (or also called the modified Camassa–Holm equation), and we are devoted to understanding how high-order nonlinearities affect the dispersive dynamics and breakdown mechanism of solutions. Firstly, we show the local well-posedness for the Cauchy problem in the framework of Besov spaces. Then, we derive the precise blow-up mechanism for strong solutions by means of the transport equation theory. Finally, we investigate the formation of singularities and provide sufficient conditions on initial data that lead to the finite time blow-up of the second-order derivative of the solution.
