Abstract:This paper deals with a class of singular boundary value problems of differential equations on infinite time scale. An existence theorem of positive solutions is established by using the Schauder fixed point theorem and perturbation and operator approximation method, which resolves the singularity successfully and differs from those of some papers. In the end of the paper, an example is given to illustrate our main result.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate positive solutions of the degenerate parabolic equation not in divergence form: ut=upΔu+auq−bur, subject to the null Dirichlet boundary condition. We at first discuss the existence and nonexistence of global solutions to the problem, and then study the large time behavior for the global solutions. When the positive source dominates the model, we prove that the global solutions uniformly tend to the positive steady state of the problem as t→∞. In particular, we establish the uniform asymptotic profiles for the decay solutions when the problem is governed by the nonlinear diffusion or absorption.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to analyse the local existence and uniqueness of positive solutions for a Hadamard-type fractional differential equation with nonlocal boundary conditions on an infinite interval. The technique used to arrive our results depends on two fixed point theorems of a sum operator in partial ordering Banach spaces. The local existence and uniqueness of positive solution is given, and we can make iterative sequences to approximate the unique positive solution. For the illustration of the main results, we list two concrete examples in the last section.

Abstract:We study positive solutions of an equation with singular nonlinearities. The equation arises in the study of equilibrium states of thin films. Under weak assumptions on the nonlinearity, we show that for N >= 3 there exists a family of radial solutions {u(alpha)}(alpha>0) with u(alpha)(0) = alpha and each of them is oscillatory in ( 0, infinity). We obtain then a singular radial solution in ( 0, infinity) by taking the limit alpha --> 0. Meanwhile, using the solutions obtained in ( 0, infinity), we show some existence results for the corresponding Neumann eigenvalue problem on a ball.

Abstract:In this paper, we deal with the delayed measure differential equations with nonlocal conditions via measure of noncompactness in ordered Banach spaces. Combining (β,γk)-resolvent family, regulated functions and fixed point theorem with respect to convex-power condensing operator and measure of noncompactness, we investigate the existence of positive mild solutions for the mentioned system under the situation that the nonlinear function satisfies measure conditions and order conditions. In addition, we provide an example to verify the rationality of our conclusion.

Different from the nonsingular case, the result in this paper shows that both of the periodic and the antiperiodic eigenvalues play the same role in such an existence result. Abstract:This paper is concerned with the existence of positive almost automorphic solutions to some nonlinear delay integral equations. We first establish a new fixed point theorem for mixed monotone operator in a cone, and then, with its help, we obtain existence theorems of positive almost automorphic solutions. Some examples are given to illustrate our results. As one will see, even in the case of almost periodicity, our theorems extend some earlier results, and moreover, the approach dealing with the integral equation arising in an epidemic problem in this paper is also new.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish two different existence results of positive periodic solutions for second order non-autonomous singular dynamical systems. The first one is based on a nonlinear alternative principle of Leray–Schauder and the result is applicable to the case of a strong singularity as well as the case of a weak singularity. The second one is based on Schauder's fixed point theorem and the result sheds some new light on problems with weak singularities and proves that in some situations weak singularities may help create periodic solutions. Recent results in the literature are generalized and significantly improved.

Abstract:The existence of multiple positive solutions of systems of singular Hammerstein integral equations is studied, where the nonlinearities involved are allowed to have singularities in their second variables and satisfy weaker conditions involving the first eigenvalues of the corresponding linear Hammerstein integral operators. Such systems contain some mathematical models arising in science and engineering. Applications are given to the existence of multiple positive radial solutions of systems of semilinear singular elliptic equations in annuli on which, to the best of our knowledge, there has been little study.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence and uniqueness of positive solutions for a class of a fractional differential equation system of Riemann–Liouville type on infinite intervals with infinite-point boundary conditions. First, the higher-order equation is reduced to the lower-order equation, and then it is transformed into the equivalent integral equation. Secondly, we obtain the existence and uniqueness of positive solutions for each fixed parameter by using the mixed monotone operators fixed-point theorem. The results obtained in this paper show that the unique positive solution has good properties: continuity, monotonicity, iteration, and approximation. Finally, an example is given to demonstrate the application of our main results.

Abstract:It is well known that solutions of ordinary differential equations are continuously dependent on finite-dimensional parameters in equations. In this paper we study the dependence of solutions and eigenvalues of second-order linear measure differential equations on measures as an infinitely dimensional parameter. We will provide two fundamental results, which are the continuity and continuous Fréchet differentiability in measures when the weak⁎ topology and the norm topology of total variations for measures are considered respectively. In some sense the continuity result obtained in this paper is the strongest one. As an application, we will give a natural, simple explanation to extremal problems of eigenvalues of Sturm–Liouville operators with integrable potentials.

Abstract:In this paper, we delve into a discrete nonlinear singular semipositone problem, characterized by a nonlinear boundary condition. The nonlinearity, given by f(u)−auα with α>0, exhibits a singularity at u=0 and tends towards −∞ as u approaches 0+. By constructing some suitable auxiliary problems, the difficulty that arises from the singularity and semipositone of nonlinearity and the lack of a maximum principle is overcome. Subsequently, employing the Krasnosel'skii fixed-point theorem, we determine the parameter range that ensures the existence of at least one positive solution and the emergence of at least two positive solutions. Furthermore, based on our existence results, one can obtain the symmetry of the solutions after adding some symmetric conditions on the given functions by using a standard argument.

Abstract:In this paper, we use the monotone iterative technique combined with cone theory to investigate the existence of solutions to the Cauchy problem for Caputo fractional differential equations in Banach spaces. New existence theorems are obtained for the case of a cone P being normal and fully regular respectively. Moreover, two examples are given to illustrate the abstract results.
