Abstract:In this expository note, we study the second variation of Perelman's entropy on the space of Kahler metrics at a Kähler-Ricci soliton. We prove that the entropy is stable in the sense of variations. In particular, Perelman's entropy is stable along the Kähler-Ricci flow. Abstract:In this note we study the second variation of Perelman's W-functional on the space of K\"ahler metrics at a K\"ahler-Ricci soliton (in particular, at a K\"ahler-Einstein metric) and its applications. We prove that Perelman's W-functional is stable in the space of K\"ahler metrics with K\"ahler classes cohomologous to $2\pi c_1(M)$ (complex structures on $M$ may vary) in the sense of variations. As an application, a stability theorem about K\"ahler-Ricci flow near a K\"ahler-Einstein metric is proved.

Abstract:In this paper, we extend the method in [TZhu5] to study the energy level $L(\cdot)$ of Perelman's entropy $\lambda(\cdot)$ for Kähler-Ricci flow on a Fano manifold. Consequently, we first compute the supremum of $\lambda(\cdot)$ in Kähler class $2\pi c_1(M)$ under an assumption that the modified Mabuchi's K-energy $\mu(\cdot)$ defined in [TZhu2] is bounded from below. Secondly, we give an alternative proof to the main theorem about the convergence of Kähler-Ricci flow in [TZhu3].

Abstract:We prove the existence of Kahler-Einstein metric on a K-stable Fano manifold using the recent compactness result on Kahler-Ricci flows. The key ingredient is an algebro-geometric description of the asymptotic behavior of Kahler-Ricci flow on Fano manifolds. This is in turn based on a general finite dimensional discussion, which is interesting in its own and could potentially apply to other problems. As one application, we relate the asymptotics of the Calabi flow on a polarized Kahler manifold to K-stability assuming bounds on geometry.

Abstract:On Hermitian manifolds, the second Ricci curvature tensors of various metric connections are closely related to the geometry of Hermitian manifolds. By refining the Bochner formulas for any Hermitian complex vector bundle (and Riemannian real vector bundle) with an arbitrary metric connection over a compact Hermitian manifold, we can derive various vanishing theorems for Hermitian manifolds and complex vector bundles by the second Ricci curvature tensors. We will also introduce a natural geometric flow on Hermitian manifolds by using the second Ricci curvature tensor.

Abstract:Let $(M,J)$ be a Fano manifold which admits a Kähler-Einstein metric $g_{KE}$ (or a Kähler-Ricci soliton $g_{KS}$). Then we prove that Kähler-Ricci flow on $(M,J)$ converges to $g_{KE}$ (or $g_{KS}$) in $C^\infty $ in the sense of Kähler potentials modulo holomorphisms transformation as long as an initial Kähler metric of flow is very closed to $g_{KE}$ (or $g_{KS}$). The result improves Main Theorem in [14] in the sense of stability of Kähler-Ricci flow.

Abstract:On a Fano manifold, we prove that the Kahler-Ricci flow starting from a Kahler metric in the anti-canonical class which is sufficiently close to a Kahler-Einstein metric must converge in a polynomial rate to a Kahler-Einstein metric. The convergence can not happen in general if we study the flow on the level of Kahler potentials. Instead we exploit the interpretation of the Ricci flow as the gradient flow of Perelman's \mu functional. This involves modifying the Ricci flow by a canonical family of gauges. In particular, the complex structure of the limit could be different in general. The main technical ingredient is a Lojasiewicz type inequality for Perelman's \mu functional near a critical point.

Abstract:For a Fano manifold, We consider the geometric quantization of the Kähler-Ricci flow and the associated entropy functional. Convergence to the original flow and entropy is established. It is also possible to formulate the finite-dimensional analogue of the optimal degeneration for the anti-canonical polarization.

Abstract:In this short note, we announce a regularity theorem for the Kahler-Ricci flow on a compact Fano manifold (Kahler manifold with positive first Chern class) and its application to the limiting behavior of the Kahler-Ricci flow on Fano 3-manifolds. Moreover, we also present a partial C-0 estimate of the Kahler-Ricci flow under the regularity assumption, which extends previous works on Kahler-Einstein metrics and shrinking Kahler-Ricci solitons. Abstract:This is a follow-up work of my earlier paper [8]. In [8], we study the lower bound of the K energy on the Kahler manifold when the first Chern class is negative. This is an important problem in Kahler geometry since the existence of lower bound of the K energy is the pre-condition for the existence of constant scalar curvature metric problem (cf. [2] and [9]). According to a decomposition formula in [8]2, the problem is reduced to the problem of solving the existence of critical metrics of a new functional J introduced both in our paper [8] and Donaldson’s work [11]. For convenience, we include its definition below. The existence problem is completed solved in Kahler surface. However, the existence problem in general dimension is still open. Abstract:Let ( M , J 0 ) (M,J_0) be a Fano manifold which admits a Kähler-Ricci soliton, we analyze the behavior of Kähler-Ricci flow near this soliton as we deform the complex structure J 0 J_0 . First, we will establish an inequality of Lojasiewicz’s type for Perelman’s entropy along the Kähler-Ricci flow. Then we prove the convergence of Kähler-Ricci flow when the complex structure associated to the initial value lies in the kernel Z Z or negative part of the second variation operator of Perelman’s entropy. As applications, we solve the Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture for the existence of Kähler-Ricci solitons in the moduli space of complex structures near J 0 J_0 , and we show that the kernel Z Z corresponds to the local moduli space of Fano manifolds which are modified K K -semistable. We also prove a uniqueness theorem for Kähler-Ricci solitons.

Abstract:In the present article, we prove a stability theorem for the Kaehler Ricci flow near the infimum of the functional E1 under the assumption that the initial metric has Ricci >−1 and ⋎Riem÷ bounded. At present stage, our main theorem still need a topological assumption (1.2) which we hope to be removed in subsequent articles. The underlying moral is: If a Kaehler metric is sufficiently closed to a Kaehler Einstein metric, then the Kaehler Ricci flow converges to it. The present work should be viewed as a first step in a more ambitious program of deriving the existence of Kaehler Einstein metrics with an arbitrary energy level, provided that this energy functional has a uniform lower bound in this kaehler class.

Abstract: In our previous paper math.DG/0010008, we develop some new techniques in attacking the convergence problems for the K\"ahler Ricci flow. The one of main ideas is to find a set of new functionals on curvature tensors such that the Ricci flow is the gradient like flow of these functionals. We successfully find such functionals in case of Kaehler manifolds. On K\"ahler-Einstein manifold with positive scalar curvature, if the initial metric has positive bisectional curvature, we prove that these functionals have a uniform lower bound, via the effective use of Tian's inequality. Consequently, we prove the following theorem: Let $M$ be a K\"ahler-Einstein manifold with positive scalar curvature. If the initial metric has nonnegative bisectional curvature and positive at least at one point, then the K\"ahler Ricci flow will converge exponentially fast to a K\"ahler-Einstein metric with constant bisectional curvature. Such a result holds for K\"ahler-Einstein orbifolds.

Abstract:We obtain a compactness result for Fano manifolds and Kähler Ricci flows. Comparing to the more general Riemannian versions in Anderson (Invent Math 102(2):429–445, 1990 ) and Hamilton (Am J Math 117:545–572, 1995 ), in this Fano case, the curvature assumption is much weaker and is preserved by the Kähler Ricci flows. One assumption is the C^1 boundedness of the Ricci potential and the other is the smallness of Perelman’s entropy. As one application, we obtain a new local regularity criteria and structure result for Kähler Ricci flows. The proof is based on a Hölder estimate for the gradient of harmonic functions and mixed derivative of Green’s function.

Abstract:These are the notes for lectures given at the Sanya winter school in complex analysis and geometry in January 2016. In Sec. 1, we review the meaning of Ricci curvature of Kähler metrics and introduce the problem of finding Kähler–Einstein metrics. In Sec. 2, we describe the formal picture that leads to the notion of K-stability of Fano manifolds, which is an algebro-geometric criterion for the existence of a Kähler–Einstein metric, by the recent result of Chen–Donaldson–Sun. In Sec. 3, we discuss algebraic structure on Gromov–Hausdorff limits, which is a key ingredient in the proof of the Kähler–Einstein result. In Sec. 4, we give a brief survey of the more recent work on tangent cones of singular Kähler–Einstein metrics arising from Gromov–Hausdorff limits, and the connections with algebraic geometry.
