Abstract:Objective To study the changes and significance of expression of urotensin Ⅱ in myocardial cells with acute myocardial infarction-induced heart failure rabbits. Methods The model of acute myocardial infarction-induced heart failure was made with rabbits. We investigated changes of the haemodynamic parameters and expression of urotensinⅡ in the cardiomyocytes. Results In heart failure group the weight of heart increased and heart rate was elevated, systolic pressure and left ventricular end-diastolic pressure were increased, simultaneity the maximum rate of descent in left ventricular pressure and the maximum rate of ascension in left ventricular pressure were lowered comparing with controls. In heart failure groups expression of urotensin Ⅱ in the cardiomyocytes was increased.Conclusions There was elevated expression of urotensin Ⅱin cardiomyocytes in heart failure rabbits,It is presumed that urotensin Ⅱ may directly act on myocardium by autocrine and /or paracrine.
