Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the effects of the school-based smoking intervention trials with quantitive methods in China. Methods:The intervention approaches of 32 similar studies were scored separately, the percentage of ratio difference was taken as the effect index and then the corelation coefficient between them was computed;multi-regression was used to select the valuable intervention approaches. Results:The whole effect of intervention studies was satisfying and they could prevent or reduce half of the occurrence of smoking behaviour;the two groups of 26 studies which used the smoking prevalence as evaluation measurement had higher level of corelation between the scores and effects than other groups;Five factors, including students are available to handy materials about smoking's disadvantage to health, students have been trained to obtain the personal skills about smoking, the school has designed reward-punish regulations of students' smoking behaviour, students have accepted the social interaction way free of smoking and don't advise to smoke or accept cigarettesandparents and other family members support or join in the work to control smoking, had statistical meanings to the intervention effect. Conclusion:The quantitive methods introduced by this paper are scientific and reasonable in some way;although the result has to be approved by further practices, the selected five intervention approaches can somewhat be regarded as guidelines for us to conduct similar smoking intervention studies in school settings.
