Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship among quality of life, level of hope and coping style of liver cancer patients treated with Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization (TACE). Methods Totally 135 patients of primary liver cancer treated with TACE were investigated by demographic information sheet, the quality of life Scale (FACT-G), Herth Hope Index (HHI) and Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire (MCMQ). Results The total score of quality of life in liver cancer patients treated with TACE was 61.16± 14.12, that of level of hope 32.36±5.51 and that of coping style 44.44±6.56. The score of quality of life was positively correlated with that of level of hope, and that of confrontation and avoidance in coping style (r=0.455,0.344 respectively,P<0.01) but negatively with that of resignation in coping style (r=-0.282,P<0.01). Conclusion Quality of life of liver cancer patients treated with TACE maitains in a moderate level. Nurses should pay more attention to their level of hope and coping style, taking effective measures to improve the quality of life in liver cancer patients treated with TACE.
