Influence of psychological and social support based on self efficacy theory on social participation of young and mid-dle aged patients with peritoneal dialysis

Abstract:Objective:To probe into the influence of psychosocial support based on self efficacy theory on social participation of young and middle aged patients with peritoneal dialysis.Methods:By using the quasi experi-mental research method of different period control,a total of 64 young patients with peritoneal dialysis were di-vided into control group and experimental group with 32 cases in each.The patients in control group received routine outpatient follow up and health guidance,while the patients in experimental group implementated in-terventions of psychosocial support based on self efficacy theory,then to evaluate the level of self efficacy,so-cial participation,urine volume and ultrafiltration volume,serum creatinine (SCR)and blood urea nitrogen (BUN)of patients between both groups respectively at 3 months and 6 months after entering in group.Results:6 months after the intervention,the scores of self efficacy and social participation of patients in experimental group were all higher than those in control group(P <0.05),and the urine volume and ultrafiltration volume, serum creatinine(SCR)of experimental group were lower than those in control group(P <0.05 ).Conclusion:The application of psychosocial support interventions based on self efficacy theory for young and middle aged patients with peritoneal dialysis was helpful to improve the patients’self efficacy and social participation,and to improve the effect of peritoneal dialysis.
