Abstract:Objective To compare the allogenetic cortical bone cross-pin and Rigidfix biomechanical characteristics of the anterior cruciate ligament ( ACL ) reconstruction and the initial fixed effects by goat knee ACL model. Methods Twelve goats’ left and right knee joints were applied. All were divided into 2 groups:the experimental group of allogeneic cortical bone cross pin (n= 12 ), the control group of Rigidfix ( n = 12 ). Biomechanical experiment included displacement data, maximum failure load, yield load etc. Load-displacement curve slope approximately to the straight line was selected as tensile stiffness. Data were statistically analyzed.P≤ 0.05:statistically signiifcant. Results In cycling test, the displacement at cycle 200, 400 and 1000 were ( 0.53 ± 0.11vs. 0.55 ± 0.11 ) cm, ( 0.78 ± 0.16 vs. 0.84 ± 0.17 ) cm, and ( 1.21 ± 0.26vs. 1.23 ± 0.28 ) cm without statistical signiifcance ( P > 0.05 ). The maximum failure load and yield load were ( 944.225 ± 223.073 ) N, ( 864.864 ± 191.209 ) N in the allogenetic cortical bone cross-pin group and ( 900.568 ± 86.375 ) N, ( 807.473 ± 68.125 ) N in the Rigidifx group without statistical signiifcance (P> 0.05 ). Tensile stiffness was ( 237.215 ± 92.126 ) N / mm in the allogenetic cortical bone cross-pin group and ( 230.357 ± 49.792 ) N / mm in the Rigidifx group without statistical signiifcance (P > 0.05 ).Conclusions Allogenetic cortical bone cross-pin and Rigidifx show no statistical signiifcance in vitro biomechanics, suggesting that allogenetic cortical bone cross-pin has potential for clinical application.
