The study of metronidazole gel compound and its clinical observation

Abstract:Objective To improve the effect and facility of clinicaltreatment for periodontal diseases. Methods The compound metronidazole gel mainly made from metronidazole and chlorhexidine which were the representative medicines against anaerobes and oxybiotic bacteria in oral were developed.50 cases with gingivitis or peridentitis were treated by this kind of gel. Results The antibiotic experiment in vitro showed that the gel can resist bacteria obviously. After two-weeks PLI GI SBI and PD all dropped remarkably in clinical observation. Conclusion It demonstrated that metronidazole gel compound could cure periodontal diseases reliably, and the method of treatment was convenient and the cost was low.
